(22,845 posts)So where did you hear about all the topics if not from the media? Or reported 2nd or 3rd hand online from an article in the NYT, the Washington Post or a story on NPR? I get my news from the last two, and they reported on all these topics, extensively and in-depth. I'm very tired of people who are playing into Trump's war on the media.

(22,845 posts)that is not really that surprising. I read the Post daily, and I find their reporting to usually be fair and factual. As the truth definitely has a liberal bias, most Republicans don't like the Post. And you don't acknowledgedge my point about where your understanding of the "facts" actually comes from...

(3,001 posts)If one is convinced of that then, surely, there is room to scrutinize, and criticize, our media sources that normalize their agenda. Thanks for the reply.

(22,845 posts)value without comment. If Republican lies and and statements about bad policy are not quoted, how are they to be analyzed and criticized? The Post always provides context, fact-checking, and analysis of Republican statements. They also highlight the few Republicans who criticize Trump and the Republican leadership. That's good journalism. They do not in any ways, shape or form "normalize" the Republican agenda. You must be reading a different version of the Post than I do.

(22,845 posts)take responsibility for his content lying in support of a lying president. But they started by making fun of him:
1. I read this book as something of a lengthy job application. You want to work for President Trump again, dont you?
2. Have you reached a point where you can admit that Trumps inauguration was not the largest in history?
2. Youre very critical of the press and reporters, and it seems like you think that you and the administration deserved no responsibility for the negative coverage youve received.
3. The term fake news has become so widespread. Looking back, do you think those are dangerous words for a president or a press secretary to use?
4. Youre obviously still a strong supporter of the president. Do you think he exacerbates this antagonism?
5. According to our papers tracking, the president has made more than 3,200 false or misleading claims since taking office. Do you agree he regularly says things that are untrue?

(111,110 posts)My latest criticism is their reporting on the "polls" regarding Trump's summit with Putin and how the polls "normalized" it. It was not "normal" and they should have refrained from polls that show otherwise. Just my opinion.
