There are 3 theories that explain why Trump sucks up to Putin -- but which one makes the most sense?

There are three general theories to explain Trump’s behavior toward Russia (and other hard-right broadly autocratic regimes), and for unknown reasons the two most likely ones are almost entirely absent from our electronic media. The three theories, in ascending order of likelihood, are:

The Manchurian Candidate: He’s being blackmailed or has been a Russian asset for years.
The Wannabe Dictator: He believes that countries should be run like companies—essentially autocraciesThe Deadbeat: He’s not only not rich, but he’s badly in debt, and Russian billionaires are among his main creditors.

But there is the GOP's addiction to power and money that has made them an equal partner in this. Putin understands both and has done a masterful job of coordinating so many different efforts and now we are truly in his grasp.

I tend to think that one of the reasons he ran for prez was to have control over the DOJ because he and his gang have been investigated for many years already and he knew he was running low on time. Get the office job, control the justice dept, get them off his neck and maybe get off free.

Talked about endlessly here, he was flat broke, in the Russians pocket already and was led by the nose directly into what we see today due to greed and yes the thought that he'd get away with it if he was elected.

It was a perfect storm for him, money, power and prestige, his fucked up ego took over and here we are.

The illegality of the entire thing did occur to him but as he'd got away with every thing shady he'd ever tried he tried again.

He's a felony waiting to happen these days, it's no big deal to him when he gets caught, just threaten everybody as usual.

He brought a knife to a cannon fight this time though, he's beyond toast.

We will survive him, he won't survive us.

getting rid of sanctions. There's potentially trillions at stake if that happens.

He's in way over his head.
