(7,527 posts)Besides pieces by Pution apologist Cohen the Nation has posted debunked articles on the supposed inability of eastern European countries' servers to support the kind of cuberwarefare conducted by Russian agents. It has been going on for years and clearly Cohen is either compromised or an outright agent. Van den Heuvel promised an investigation of the debunked pieces but it was just a cover-up. Until it gets new leadership the Nation is either irrelevant or dangerous at this point.

(7,527 posts)that is part of the attack on our country. And it has nothing to do with pro-trump articles, so that deflection won't work. It is about the publisher and her putin-apologist husband who are running it.
Here are Nation articles on:
supposed "Russiaphobic insanity" we as a country are undergoing:
https://www.thenation.com/article/amid-russiagate-hysteria-what-are-the-facts/
"Russiagate is more fiction than fact"
https://www.thenation.com/article/russiagate-is-more-fiction-than-fact/
Here's van den Heuvel's attempt to downplay the attack on our country:
https://www.thenation.com/article/on-russia-we-need-more-reason-and-less-frenzy/
Here's one blaming - get this, Democrats, for the hack, or as the writer calls it, a leak by the Dems:
https://www.thenation.com/article/a-new-report-raises-big-questions-about-last-years-dnc-hack/
None of those even include the work of Cohen, who has done more damage than anyone, but here's a quote from Cohen himself: "The number-one threat to the United States today," Cohen told Fox News, is the continuing investigation of Trumps ties to Russia: "There is no evidence there was any wrongdoing."
There are many, many more examples I could use but I'll let you go fish for them. I had a subscription to the Nation for almost 30 years. It is compromised today, no matter how hard that is for some people to admit.

(16,869 posts)So it's either purse an investigation of Trump's Russian collusion or war with Russia?? What a ridiculous claim and "The Nation" should be ashamed for reprinting this drivel.

(12,618 posts)I've noticed that Trump supporters do this a lot. They present two choices at extreme opposite ends and try and make it seem like they are the only two out there, and if you are for or against one then you are for or against the other. It's an intellectually dishonest trap that, unfortunately, they get away with far too often.
We can impeach Trump, impose greater sanctions on Russia, do to Russia what they're doing to us, by which I mean covertly support dissident elements in the country in an attempt to undermine Putin's regime, and still avoid war. And anyone who tells you differently is, quite simply, lying.
As for The Nation printing this drivel, it's what I've come to expect from them and one of the reasons I quit reading it over a decade ago.

(1,474 posts)My mom and I were just talking about this earlier in the week. We both had subscriptions to the Nation and we both cancelled them after a few issues. The relentless and hateful hostile tone toward moderate or centrist Democrats was outrageous.

(11,885 posts)Is actually threatening us with war on us, and putin is the one trump will allow to do something to us with. Along with the republicans help in Congress, then claim its others , and others fault, again. He 's a corrupt crook and a puppet for putin now. So is the republican party enabling this to continue.
