Big (horrified) snark laugh from a FB comment section:

I’d give attribution but it would be w/o permission. I laughed through my tears though:

Trump supporters 6 months ago:“There were no meetings with any Russians.”

Trump supporters 3 months ago: “They just forgot to report the meetings with Russians.”

Trump supporters last week: "There's no evidence of collusion with Russia!!"

Trump supporters 3 days ago: "Who cares if the Trump campaign colluded with Russia?"

Trump supporters yesterday: “It’s Obama’s fault for not stopping the meetings with Russians.”

Trump’s lawyer Jay Sekulow today: “It’s the Secret Service’s fault for not stopping the meeting with Russians.”

Trump supporters tomorrow: “Трамп собирается сделать Россию великой снова!”

But another way to look at this (now that we know the tactics that were used on Facebook) is that some of these “trump supporters’” are plants or bots. They are leading the true believers who may be weakening in their support of tRump. So they are directing their thinking and giving them the language to explain to themselves and to others how to understand this situation. Never mind that it is lies and mind games. It works to help them stay with tRump even though common sense would tell you something is very, very wrong. The red lights are flashing, but they are being directed to disregard the warnings. And apparently, it is working. 😳

"Education is not necessarily a good thing."

The folks on the other side of the aisle understand that clearly. Because education means more liberal thought. The better-educated someone is, the more likely they are to be openminded, to appreciate nerdy things like science and statistics and facts, and vote for Democrats.

Keep 'em as dumb as possible and you're likely to run the table (and, unfortunately, the country, too). No wonder they love defunding public schools.

I remember when Elizabeth Dole addressed a republi-CON convention back in the day. It was years ago. She did an “Oprah” thing, stepping out from behind the podium with a hand-held mic, giving her remarks as she casually strolled around the stage. She made quite a strong impression and some even hailed her as a future female president.

But she made ONE remark that set off alarm bells for me. Extolling the “virtues”of the GOP, she declared “we don’t tell you what to think.” It got a big round of applause. I was sitting there on the family room carpet and my jaw dropped to the floor. Even back then, I couldn’t believe somebody had the gall to make that claim!

The CONS don’t tell you what to think??? Are you freakin’ kidding me????? Shit - the CONS have made it their mission to tell you what to think, how you’re supposed to vote, whom you’re allowed to love, how you’re supposed to behave, and lately, how and when you’re allowed to kneel!

I think that's what Putin's supporters would be saying. But the Trumpanzees in America would applaud Trump for doing it because Fox Noise was able to convince them that it was somehow a good thing for America.

trump voters don't care if cozying up to Putin is good for America, they only care if they think such support would rile up or "beat" the liberals.

There's no letter that would indicate that sound. So, they use a, which is pronounced "ah" in emphasized syllables. In unemphasized syllables, it gets a little closer to "uh," but still isn't exactly right.

So, really, Russians pronounce the name more or less as we pronounce the word "tromp," which is much like what most of us would like to do the The Donald.

Tromp Trump!

From: The Hill:

Russia is reportedly testing a range of new nuclear weapons and other military hardware including a high-powered laser, just days after Russian President Vladimir Putin met with President Trump for a one-on-one summit in Finland.

The Associated Press reported on Thursday that Russia had tested weapons that range from the laser weapon system to a nuclear-powered cruise missile. The cruise missile is reported to have "unlimited" range.

On Thursday, the country's Defense Ministry reportedly said that it had tested the Burevestnik cruise missile and is now preparing it for a flight test.
"The program of the system’s pop-up tests has been completed with the positive results, which makes it possible to switch to preparations for the flight trials of the Sarmat missile complex," the Defense Ministry said, according to Tass, a Russian news agency.

The AP also notes that military officials in Russia said the country is practicing how to utilize a Peresvet high-powered laser weapon system. It is also practicing trials of the Poseidon underwater nuclear drone.

The development comes after Trump and Putin concluded a high-stakes summit in Helsinki on Monday.
