California Prosecutor Who Questioned Why Maxine Waters Hadnt Been Shot Suspended By San Bernardino DA
Michael Selyem, a San Bernardino County, California, deputy district attorney, was suspended by the DA's office Monday in the wake of intense backlash over his recently unearthed social media posts.
Mike Ramos, the San Bernardino County DA, said in a statement Monday that Selyem will be placed on administrative leave while an investigation into his actions takes place, according to KABC-TV.
"The San Bernardino County District Attorneys Office does not condone hate, discrimination or incitement of violence," Ramos said in a statement posted Monday afternoon. "Our community and the entire criminal justice system depends on having fair, ethical, and unbiased prosecutors."
The investigation could lead to "disciplinary action leading up to termination," according to Ramos.

The cleanest way to get rid of him is by documenting the charge was thoroughly investigated, leaving no excuse for him to sue for wrongful dismissal.

(2,697 posts)I agree he's gotta go. But I think his mind has come unhinged. He's probably not the brightest guy who ever passed the bar, but his rantings were so outrageous that I gotta go with "crazy" -- demented, brain-rotted crazy -- before "stupid".

(24,338 posts)He is a public employee and as such, is entitled to the process all state employees have
If they fire him without investigating and following all procedures he can sue and likely win
Cha
(297,655 posts)it clear. Suspension and then whatever they need to do to FIRE him.

There are no shades of gray here, though. He's proven himself profoundly unfit for that work.
