it is really amazing that the same folks on my FB who are verklempt about Chick Fil A...have been amazingly quiet about the Sikh Temple shooting.
It is quite telling about WHO and WHAT they are.

Many of the reactions are pretty similar to those you'd see anywhere else. There's actually a surprising amount of praise for Sikh culture. There's also your standard CT nonsense trying to pin it on the liberals and your normal RW criticism of the media, but for the most part it's seems to be the same type of reaction the rest of the country is having. And that's not surprising, since most people find this type of thing appalling, regardless of political affiliation.
The only type of people who support this type of act are fringe elements like the shooter. And even some of them probably think he was an idiot for mistaking Sikhs for Muslims.

(35,392 posts)my point to them is ... if these Sikhs had guns in their church, the RW would be going on and on about the "Great AMERICAN" saving us from another "terrorist cell" ... (and being taken down by that Muslim Kenyan Socialist Obama's jackboot thugs).

(10 posts)There seems to be a lot of people who think guns are the answer to just about everything, so far, I have only seen one news item where there was another person who was armed and could defend himself in the situation. Meanwhile, the same old line goes on, everyone should be armed.

(2,185 posts)Not a mass murder...
but the assasination of George Tiller,
in Witchita Kansas at Reformation Lutheran Church.
He was hated on, targeted, and shot in a holy place.
NOne of the freepers could say a word...
not about the holy place that is...
(the ELCA is pro-choice)
but the fact that an extremist violated holy space...
crickets.....

(9,974 posts)I've put two separate posts on my wall about the domestic terror attack victims(purposely using that phrase since that IS what happened) at the temple and got not a single response from ANYone. Nothing. One of my posts was a pic from the vigil where people are holding up letters that spell out "Wisconsin Weeps" that I had found online.
Not a single response. Nothing. At all.
Yet posts/vigil pics/candles that I had put up after the theater murders...people were "liking" and sharing left and right...and my wall was exploding with support from these same people about supporting Chick Fil A (oh, yes, believe me, I responded in kind with my own responses and pics about C-F-A and the people in line..including one that compared the crowds at C-F-A with protestors from 40 years ago who protested civil rights).
