That is not a picture of one of the immigrants that were separated from their parents. That is a picture that was taken during a protest. The mother was there to protest and the boy was separated for a minimal time, thirty seconds. That's when the photo was taken.

The photographer posted on Facebook to his friends, and friends took the photo and spread it without his caption.

Since then, this photo has become a rally cry to the Right about FakeNews.

I understand that there are few pictures of the real events that were allowed to be taken, but this photo is a simulation, at best.

I will try to find the link to support the information I am sharing.

Here we go. Snopes confirms it was miscaptioned, as I stated.
