Reid Staff Lands Right Hook:"They're a bunch of cowards-Shows You How SCARED They are of the TRUTH"

“They’re a bunch of cowards, and they’re avoiding the issue,” said David Krone, Reid’s chief of staff, in an interview with POLITICO on Sunday night. “Lindsey Graham, Reince Priebus — they’re a bunch of henchmen for Romney, and they’re all reading off the same talking points. They couldn’t hold a candle to Harry Reid.”

Krone added: “What Harry Reid said is the fact of what he was told. To turn it around, all their childish rants this weekend about calling Reid a ‘liar’ and all that, it just shows you how scared they are that Harry Reid was telling the truth.”

LDS always puts up a united front but there is also always lots of power mongering and backstabbing behind the scenes, with the power players as happens with any organization that his lots of power and money.

LDS has to tithe according to their income. My friend who is a Catholic priest is jealous of LDS b/c Catholics "are allowed to give pocket change" where as LDS are billed on 10% of their income and expected to provide proof of such on a yearly basis in some kind of "settlement" process.

Which makes it possible that LDS HAS Mitt's taxes -- all there has to be is someone who doesn't like Mitt enough to leak them to Harry Reid.

It's only one theory of what is going on but a feasible one!! I do think Harry's statement that Mitt's father would be embarrassed...it's sort of a thing and "elder" would say, you know?

How would they know unless a certain figure was provided? Then again its Highly Possible, he lied to them also and thats a sin.

If he knows Mitt has skeletons that are politically lethal or perhaps felonious, or even blackmail potential, it may be a bit of patriotism and not wanting to drag the country through the grinder even through the Republican Convention. I'm for a decent Republican opponent.

I mean, let's face it. We may be Democrats, but having a sleaze Republican doesn't do the country justice. And it will come out sooner or later. The 1% are not like us and they don't like us. No one would care too much or for too long that he's rich or even used legal tax loopholes, but crooked, yes, we'd care. And further on in the election cycle it could hurt America...here and abroad.

This isn't some corporation for him to come in and raid and walk off with the profits because he's rich and smart and knows how to do it. That's his style...that's all he know, and he may just be playing the same game.

The ones that could be considered "decent" have virtually no voice in today's extremist Repub party.

Right now, "sleaze" and Republican are virtually synonymous.

Reid is using a version of a GOP tactic.... the "some people say" smear... and the GOP have been completely stumped and pwned by it.... their OWN dirty pool! And they keep falling for it! They won't shut up with the ad hominem attacks on Reid, which only bring up the whole accusation again, without even addressing it. And of course it could all be cleared up easily.....

The twist is that Reid is more than likely telling the truth. It doesn't sound like some crazy conspiracy, but because of what we already know about Mitt, it's perfectly believable. More so than Obama is a secret Muslim!

It's priceless!

That just ain't in the stars, there's no way to prove Reid is a liar -- how do you prove that "no one" told Reid about the taxes? Beside that, if there's even the slightest chance that Romney might have to flip the documents in court, the suit will never, ever see the smallest sliver of daylight.

Tue Aug 7, 2012, 03:43 AM

He needs to put up or shut up.

Obama has released 11 years. Romney's own father released 12 when he ran for President in 1968. His father said "one year is a fluke". Romney release 2010 which was a partial Tax Return, promised to release 2011 but then filed an extension on it. Romney needs to come clean here. Reid don't need to prove anything, Romney does. If Romney really wanted Reid to shut up, if there was nothing to hide, he would release them. The only reason he wants Reid to reveal the source is so there can be some good ole boys go and have a chat with that source.

Jon Stewart nailed Harry pretty good on yesterday's (rerun of Thursday) Daily Show, accusing him of
what Fox News does -- spreading uncorroborated hearsay to promote a point... as in "some people say blah blah blah..."
I appreciate the effort, though. Why should Harry and the Dems be forced to play by Marquis of Queensbury rules when their opponents cheat like hell. No innuendo needed by me; I know that used car salesman is a slick little weasel. But it seems to be a bit of bluffery on Harry's part.

Mitt incorrectly set up the shell game in the first place by having two peas and three shells. Then he showed us the empty one. Now, the guess is between two winning peas.

If you point at both of the shells and say, "I win," are you bluffing?

On the question of Mitt's taxes, there were only three options: he was completely innocent; he had done something highly politically damaging; he was guilty of a crime.

Mitt is the only person who can clear the question up, by providing the documentation only he can release. By refusing to do so, Mitt took complete innocence off the table.

He's not playing a rope-a-dope, because the damage he has sustained over this is likely irreversible, and he knows it. Even some sort of evidence that completely exonerates him would not travel as far as this fiasco has; nor would it be believed by many voters since Mitt hasn't told the truth about anything yet.

So now the only question is, was the indiscretion something that ends his political career, or was it something that can put him in jail?

Faced with that obvious situation, someone--anyone, in fact, could "bluff" Mitt by accusing him of paying little or no taxes. But a good investigator wouldn't have to do that. The situation that is already visible shows that plenty of people should know something about it. All Senator Reid had to do was go find those people.

Posit: He has every intent of releasing his returns, which conceal nothing illegal or even questionable or offensive, but he's holding onto them to give the Democrats more time to make these pronouncements. Then he releases them and the ensuing flurry of non-harmful facts buries the Democrats and the president.

What if?
