New York Times' "Dems in Disarray" story for July 1, 2018.

“The pitched battle looming over the Supreme Court, along with a jolt to the Democratic leadership at the ballot box last Tuesday, is threatening to shatter the already fragile architecture of the Democratic Party, as an activist rebellion on the left and a lurch to the right in Washington propels the party toward a moment of extraordinary conflict and forced reinvention,” the New York Times reports.

“For Democrats, the transformation could prove as consequential as President Trump’s consolidation of power in his own party and the conservative movement’s tightening grip on the federal government.”

Said Sen. Dick Durbin (D-IL): “The Trump presidency has changed the dynamics in our party.”

We see them all back again, with more dark money & media solidly behind them.

It is the Democratic Party who will organize & fight to save this country.
We know what we stand for and who we do it all on behalf of.
The same people & reason we have always advocated on the side of.
Human Rights & Equal Rights for every citizen of this nation.

Democrats will do everything to save our nation.

Glad I'm not one of the others who will betray America for Money & Media.

Senate Democrats settled on a careful strategy for the coming Supreme Court confirmation battle. They would drop their demands that Republicans not appoint a replacement for Mr. Kennedy until after the midterm elections, senators decided, and instead would highlight the threat to abortion rights and health care to try to mobilize opposition to Mr. Trump’s appointment.

“I’m sure many of them believe we have the power to stop this,” Mr. Durbin said of the expectations his party’s enraged base for Democrats blocking the court pick. “But the grim reality is that we have some power but not the power to stop this.”

But a few hours later, on the ground floor of the Hart Senate Office Building, nearly 600 women clad in suffragist white were arrested in a demonstration against the separation of migrant children from their parents — and they said they wanted their senators to do nothing less than lie down on the tracks to stop Mr. Trump’s nomination.

“I want to see this Congress actually follow our lead and resist in a real way,” said Winnie Wong, one of the organizers of the sit-in. “This kind of resistance can create a blockade and stop what will be a fast-track appointment. Imagine a world where you had the chamber do a civil disobedience, what that would that look like.”

With former President Barack Obama evincing little appetite to reclaim a leadership role and no clear 2020 presidential front-runner, Democrats lack a commanding figure to oversee strategy and help bridge the internal fissures in the party.

And while relentless confrontation with the White House and noisy protests might animate the rising Democratic coalition, they will not lead to success at the polls if the party cannot harness the fury.

“The key is translating these public demonstrations and marches into electoral activism and then government activism,” said Senator Sherrod Brown of Ohio, a Democrat.

The tumult also extends to how Democrats should set themselves apart from the right.

On the activist left, there is a deep hunger to wean Democrats away from their ties to corporate America, one of Ms. Ocasio-Cortez’s clarion calls. There are also rising demands that leaders encourage, and even participate in, the sort of extreme measures of confrontation that took place on the floor of the Hart building and have been on display restaurants where Trump aides have been shouted down while dining. Nancy Pelosi, the House Democratic leader who is facing a growing revolt in her own caucus, was sharply criticized on the left when she denounced such tactics. . .

But some Democrats see the moment in even more sweeping terms, akin to the era following the Vietnam War and Watergate, when the reaction to a controversial Republican president triggered a moderate and liberal backlash. That movement delivered dozens of new seats, but it also unleashed a generational changing of the guard that jolted party leaders.'>>>

9. We're moving forward
Sun Jul 1, 2018, 12:01 AM
Jul 2018

I personally feel too many Democrats in congress have held onto their seats too long. We've heard the same answers to the same problems and not made much progress while conservatives have completely taken over every aspect of our government and the governments of most of the rest of the world while rewriting history and abandoning every aspect of fact.

Democratic leaders should have been moving successors forward and passing the torch to bring in fresh ideas. Many people see the Democrats as out of touch and the answer is not to bring more conservatism to the party, like we did in the 2000's. The solution is to bring in fresh faces with fresh ideas who are willing to lead as liberals. Many voters are voicing the same point of view and politicians who have held their office too long are fighting the change instead of making themselves part of the solution. I was a happy supporter of Barbara Boxer, but she stepped aside and look at how excited people are by Kamala Harris. This is a change we should embrace for the whole party.

The supreme court battle isn't throwing us into disarray, it's bringing us together. I think this coming fight will galvanize our party to fight with a singular sense of purpose just as our leadership is about to embrace a new generation of Democrats. Go Dems!

16. Forward movement is seen in the many Dem wins & upsets in challenging districts
Sun Jul 1, 2018, 12:20 AM
Jul 2018

These wins against Republicans are the result of the massive Democratic grassroots organizing, fundraising and support from the likes of Obama, Holder, Clinton Boxer, Women's organizations, Minority leaders & Human & Civil Rights activists as well as every one of the millions who have joined forces to bring the Democratic majority to local, State & Federal offces.

The forward movement will continue on its course regardless of the growing doomsday messaging of Money & Media.

The stronger & more threatening our wins become, the more we'll see signs of pushback in the only way anti-Democratic voices know how to do.

They have no record to run on so it again will become a full on billion dollar smear campaign.

The screech of "Dems in Disarray!!!" Is just that.

Under the surface of Money & Media, it appears the Democrats are a sure & steady threat to the same forces that gave us Trump in 2016.

We will move forward even with the regurgitation of smears & Lies we heard throughout 2015/16.

Onward Together.
Democrats WILL salvage this Country from the greedy hands of RW rule.
Again & again.

Reminds me of when Johnny 'Football' Manziel was drafted by Cleveland. He's was all the media could talk about. He was going to transform the NFL and 'bring Cleveland back' and...and...pfffft.

Now a primary victory in the Bronx is going to force reinvention of the Democratic Party.

New York Rep. Yvette D. Clarke narrowly survived a primary challenge in the 9th District on Tuesday night.
With 99 percent of precincts reporting, Clarke led community organizer Adem Bunkeddeko [who is only 30 years old, the son of Ugandan war refugees], 52 percent to 48 percent, when The Associated Press called the race.

Excuse me. A mere 5 miles from Crowley’s district, Yvette Clarke was almost toppled by a young Primary challenger from the *center*. A pro-charter school, pro-development type of Democrat.
A more complete narrative is that a new crop of citizens is taking the reins from the old guard that dropped the ball in 2016.

(I'll just call it, "Who gives a shit".)

What Taegan Reads

"After waking up sometime between 5:30 and 6:30 am, I'll grab my iPad off the bedside table.

Then I'll spend five to ten minutes checking headlines from about a dozen RSS feeds to see if there's anything really important that happened overnight.

This is just a cursory look at the day before I make coffee. (My day doesn't get into full-swing until I've made Blue Bottle coffee that I've had shipped from San Francisco.)

After coffee, I'll sit down at my desktop iMac and pull up my dashboard.

It's set up like this:
on the left hand side of the screen there's a Google Reader client called Reeder,
on the right is a Twitter client, Twitter for the Mac, and in the center is a browser with tabs that stay open throughout the day.

The beauty of the way I've got things set up is that I'm not chained to a desk, I can pretty much do what I do from anywhere in the world--I have various alerts also tied in via Twitter to my iPhone.

During the day I get emails from readers, reporters, pollsters and political strategists pointing me to news.

And I also typically follow individual writers more than I do websites.

A few of those people are Walter Shapiro, John Avlon, David Grann, Marc Ambinder, Ben Smith, Jonathan Martin, David Weigel, Steve Kornacki and Michael Scherer.

🤤I find Twitter to be a phenomenal tool in terms of newsgathering
and, among others, I follow closely Chuck Todd, Jake Tapper, Rick Klein, Jonathan Karl, Karen Tumulty, Mike Allen, and Mark Knoller.
******************
There's even much More in the fast paced rapid fire exhausting day of Taegan.

Ya know what. Its not the fact that this was some 7 yrs ago, but rather how he felt the need to describe his very boring day, from the momemt he opened his eyes till he tuned into Chick fking Todd.

This self written article about himself just proves what a shitty writer he STILL is.

The Dems who want us to hold big rallies threatening violence against our opponents!
