was made even more disgusting by the fact that, apparently, no one in that crowd spoke up. No one defended that boy against that malignant hater.

I know not everyone is physically or psychologically capable of stepping between the victim and the assailant, but some of us are. And, sadly, it looks as though there will be more need for intervenors as people of color, gays, women, Muslims and anyone seen as different or weak or powerless face life in Trump's America.

I hope we can be on the lookout for opportunities to stand between the MAGA wackjobs and their intended punching bags. I have to believe that all it would have taken to shut Miss MAGA'S pie hole is one calm adult to step up and say "That's enough of your hateful bullshit! Leave the young man alone or the police will be called."

Small acts of kindness add up. Before you know it---attitudes are changed.

They'll harass a person and that person doesn't even look over at them, they walk by like they are a speck of dust.

The MAGA people's heads almost explode. They demand recognition, try to get in the grill of a person, but when they are completely ignored, they can't handle that. Their need for self-validation is challenged and they go from someone on the offense to someone spurned and wounded.
