Best case against Trump picking the next SCOTUS justice is potential culpability in the Russia probe

...the conflict of interest in the president picking the judge who is destined to ultimately rule on whether he can be prosecuted in office (among other potential defenses) is glaring and obvious to even the most disinterested observer.

This is the case that should be pressed by Senators and others opposed because it forces republicans to publicly confront and address Trump's looming criminal jeopardy. It frames and highlights the corrupt nature of the mad rush the WH and the republican leader are orchestrating to confirm a nominee (sight unseen, at this point) before the fall elections.

His campaign manager is in solitary confinement and others running his presidential campaign have already plead guilty to various charges. More importantly, the bulk of the investigation has yet to come to a head.

Let republican puff and blow about Democrats demanding they hold their president accountable. It's unconscionable for a target of an investigation, especially one as serious and consequential as the Russia probe, to be allowed to handpick, and actually meet with and curry the favor of his own judge. That's easy enough for anyone to understand.

A suit can be filed ex parte with the Federal Court alleging the above. The GOP file an opposition and if they lose it, the GOP will do an ex parte for the US Supreme Court, where the Dems can file an opposition.

The ex parte from Dems to the Federal court, should request a discovery process. Discovery process period of 30 day response from GOPers. In the discovery request . . . Request for Admission of Facts.

...we should make this politically toxic,

It's obvious where the votes are today. But, politics isn't a static enterprise. Politicians can be pushed. I think this is the issue we should press going forward, without a shred of cynicism about what republicans are doing or how much power they have now to do it. Elections are a breath away, and republicans are as cowardly as they are craven.

At any rate, this is where most Americans will stand, if lead and supported by our Democratic political push..

t-rump to decide by July 7, 2018

t-rump may decide before July 7, 2018 in my opinion. Pushing the confirmation way before Sept.

Now Russian is parroting t-rump on "witch hunt" and blaming the Democratic Party as sore loser.

he's meeting and praising foreign dictators and enemies of the State. Pulling us out of treaties/contracts as if they were his own New Jersey deals. Breaking alliances and wrecking decades of State Dept diplomacy.
Profiting from business ties he made under the rubric of state business. It's evidence of his underlying intent to do as much damage and cause as much chaos as he can. He's guilty as sin. He and his family most likely are trading the PDB Secret info everyday. I bet he dumps a bunch of it at his meeting. Intelligence collected in the utmost fashion. To a high cost to America in blood and treasure.
He's the Manchurian Candidate 2018. The didn't have to even brain wash him...he just conspired right out of the box. He's a clear and Present Danger to our countries well being, and the Democracy itself. Hard to believe our military and intelligence depts haven't done something in the name of National Defense and Homeland Security, by now.
Hopefully they truly are casting a wide net. I think Mr Rosenstien showed he was serious yesterday. And the gop pissed him off right before they leave for summer break number 1.
