Basically listen on the way to work and on the way home. Usually just about anytime I'm in the car. Last night I just couldn't turn it on. Same thing on the way in this morning. Could hardly read the paper this morning, that goodness for the local section. I listened to music all the way in for the first time in decades. Heck, I was stubborn enough to try to listen during the pledge drive. And I just flipped past CNN. Couldn't listen. And I'm a bit of a news junkie. I mean, I still get a newspaper delivered to my house every day.
But this was just too much. These judges will probably sit on the court for the nearly rest of my life. And there is a good chance there will be at least one more appointment before it's all said and done. A lifetime of progress is now at risk, and there will be little that can be done to stop it.
Our only hope is for congress, not just democrats, but the institution as a whole to reassert itself and take bake the power they have ceded to both the executive and judicial branches. They should do something about Citizens United, immigration, tarrifs, and war powers. But they haven't and I see no hope on the horizon.

(16,646 posts)Strangely so was 9/11. Adversity can be a unifying force. This is anything but. It is regression to some of our worst days. We are doing to ourselves.
