Recession my ass. Minor depression (Bushes Depression). Just bc they kept labeling it a recession and fidgeting w the definitional numbers, doesn't mean it wasn't a depression.
I can't do another recession at my age.

GOPers are rushing. They needed a hot topic that usually riles up their base. Since many supporters were leaving they needed the number hot issue "Roe vs. Wade and a Supreme Court Justice.

GOPers and their mouth pieces will be spouted it all the way to November 2018, and McTurtle will do every dirty tick in the book to get him or her through.

Meanwhile. The economy is starting to fail. Wages are stagnant or wages are falling. Cost of living is on the rise. Healthcare unaffordable. Pre-existing may be a thing of the past. Medicare, Medicaid, and SS gutted. SNAP, Meals on Wheels, HUD, Disability Insurance gutted. Plus, NK, Iran, and tariffs.

Banks and corporations are losing money. Businesses are losing money. People are getting laid off. Corporate media ain't reporting this. Stock Market is slowing falling.

I see little blips. My niche is Import Export, Global Trade. Even with 45's illegally imposed tariffs the ports are booming.

We also aren't framing this in an unstable political environment.

45's base will never leave him. This moment, today - this very moment in time -

They are getting what they believe in their hearts they want - An affluent white Christian America even if they are NOT affluent.

Inflicting pain on others gives them hope. They are also just smart enough to realize (without ever blatantly stating) they can't compete in any measurable on an even playing field.

I for one hope you are right. But I don't see the economy impacting them.

I don’t think it’s gonna be a recession. I think it’s gonna be an inflationary depression. The Federal Reserve will monetize just about everything in the attempt to stop it, but monetary policy cannot fix trade problems.

What does your manufactured product allow countries abroad to 'do'? To innovate? To reduce impact on the environment (crucial in India for us Electronics Manufacturers - Extended Producer Responsibility is now required).

Our business is booming. The HTS Codes impacted by 45's tariffs as of today - June 28th? We can take as many parts/components we receive from outside of the US - input into as many finished that we will ship OUTSIDE the US - then go get the Drawback on duty from CBP.

Our finished product is innovation so no country will impose tariffs.

I'm going to knock you over with a feather.

I 100% agree with oberliner on this! I work at a US manufacturer in the North East that exports around the world. . . I do not want ANYONE to suffer financially because of 45 throwing a daily temper tantrum.

The real life consequences of an economic recession would be devastating. Let's hope we can motivate folks to vote out the Republicans without one.

Most people will tell you that the economy determines elections and has since Nixon. Usually the GOP creates a disaster(s) and the Dems always have to fix their mistakes and never get a "Thank you" or takes credit for it.

After cutting trillions to health care, skyrocketing oil prices, trade wars, more businesses moving out of this country, and already seeing results . 2 hospitals already closed down , and the rural area's will lose most of anything with health care and will be forced to close. The trickle down again is proving to be another scam from trump and the gop , while they made out like bandits with their tax scam bill. Their loosening of banking regulations again will prove to backfire and haunt them as this economy is destroyed, again .
