Can We Block Trump's Supreme Court Nominee Just Like They Blocked Ours?

There has to be some way to stall things until November, where we can then use our majority to refuse to confirm any of his nominees. That's the precedent McConnell set. It would be nice to make him choke on it. Isn't there SOMETHING we can do to delay? Filibuster? Anything? Or are we screwed for a GENERATION?

The only possibility is if we can find TWO Republicans to block the vote. Mitch has already destroyed the filibuster for SC justices. Actually, now that I think of it, with McCain out of Washington, we only need one to stop this. Jeff Flake??? Bob Corker??? Can you please stand and be counted before you head out of town???

I think of my two daughters, young adults now, with a future ahead with so much promise.

No grandchildren yet, but I can't imagine the world they would inherit.

I'm broken hearted.

We’re screwed. I am so disgusted and sick now.

Unless Flake, and Corker and McCain vote against whatever nominee Twitler puts up we are screwed. But they will follow the party line sadly.

need a majority for that.

the ship will have sailed by then even if we win big in november.

now, if we win in november and *another* vacancy comes up, *that* one we can keep open.

but the kennedy seat is going to go to a right-wing asshole who will hold that seat for 50 years.

It happened with Bush's first nominee. I mean, I gotta have something to hang my hat on here. I'm watching my country go up in flames in real time.

I'm not sure how well those work anymore, but that might help for a little while.

Also, Mueller could throw a monkey wrench into the whole thing; his report might send RePutin members scurrying for cover, too busy hiring lawyers to worry about screwing up SCROTUS again.

he at least nominates someone like Kennedy. Not promising, but have to hope. Not sure what else is available. We could not show up at times when they want to vote?

They have no love for Trump, and they're not seeking re-election. I think McCain in particular would LOVE to hang on just long enough to give Trump a big middle finger before he goes. We only need 2. I would think we could find 2 Republican Senators with a spine.

Manchin, Heidekamp and Donnelly. The first two can probably be counted on by Mitch to cancel out any opposition from Flake or Corker.
