(36,502 posts)& I'm having a hard time not unfriending every fucking relative I know who still supports this vile, vulgar man. And I'm a little pissed at Schumer & Pelosi, too. Good fucking grief. You want civility? Start at the top. Where are the hundreds of apologies from the man in the White House who denigrates people on a daily basis? Instead they chastise Maxine Waters while McConnell chortles about stealing a SCOTUS nom. I'm so disgusted with democratic leadership, they're lucky there's not another game in town.

(63,919 posts)I don't think so Senator Schumer this is good trouble for us. Also this POS should be held accountable for classless remark to Rep Waters
Seeing McConnell gloat is infuriating. Hopefully this will wake up the Democratic Leadership and they will push back as hard as they can and not remain supine during this round of SCOTUS nomination as the did during the Garland nomination...correction lack of nomination.

I don't see where that is so awful.
CrispyQ
(36,502 posts)That was my interpretation, but regardless, it's a bullshit message.
Dem leadership should call out the other side! "You want civility, start from the top. You want civility, get your president under control & then we'll talk." That's what the message should have been, not, "Okay, we'll be good silent dems like we always are, trying for unity from sea to shining sea." He's laughing at their pathetic civility comments as he takes a sledge hammer to our country.

(81,441 posts)Only a matter of time before one of his wannabe Dumbfuckistani goons will try some stunt against her. I fear for the safety of all our brothers and sisters on this side of the aisle. Considering the tendencies we've seen from the other side. THEY'RE the ones who'll take up arms like that idiot who was so sure about the lies that Hillary was running some child molestation ring in the basement of that DC pizza joint, and go personally to "check it out for himself" with his favorite pet AR-15. Our side doesn't do that shit. And just for the record, let me add that said pizza joint DIDN'T EVEN HAVE a basement, much less some nefarious child-molestation racket going on anywhere inside.
Our side doesn't do that shit. Our side doesn't load up on personal arsenals to make up for various personal shortcomings. Our side doesn't prance around with said arsenals, threatening and menacing others in public places. Our side doesn't hang on every word Alex Jones vomits forth. Our side doesn't watch Pox Noise loyally and religiously. Our side didn't support trump - and knew better because we'd heard and followed the objective FACTS. OUR side doesn't do that shit.
However, enough folks on our side also threw up their hands and didn't bother to vote, some offering variations of the "both sides no difference..." excuse.
GUYS - THE ONLY WEAPON WE'VE GOT LEFT IS OUR VOTE. (WHILE we still have it, that is. Think I'm joking?)

San Pedro Man Pleads Guilty in Federal Court to Making Death Threat Against United States Congresswoman Maxine Waters
LOS ANGELES A San Pedro man who called the Washington, D.C. office of United States Representative Maxine Waters and threatened to kill the congresswoman pleaded guilty today to a federal felony offense stemming from the threat.
Anthony Scott Lloyd, 45, pleaded guilty to one count of threatening a United States official.
Lloyd entered the guilty before United States District Judge Stephen V. Wilson, who scheduled a sentencing hearing for July 16. At the time of sentencing, Lloyd will face a statutory maximum sentence of 10 years in federal prison.

What are the chances that Trump would issue an EO to protect Maxine Waters or any other Congress person who doesn't swear serf-like fealty to him.

(1,148 posts)...and yet he keeps talking to them. It was clear what he was getting at, calling Maxine Waters "crazy" and "low IQ". He knows he is saying this to a receptive audience of gun-loving racists.
He has a lot of blood on his hands at this point, and we've got more than two more years of this shit. How many times is a red-hatter going to shoot people or threaten to shoot people? And I point this out in his Twitter feed every time he tweets his hate, and he never backs down. The Republicans and Faux News are equally complicit, they ignore these stories and go on and on about the lack of Democratic "civiiity".
He's a full-on far-right hate leader.

Standing before U.S. District Judge Stephen Wilson in a downtown courtroom, Anthony Scott Lloyd admitted the charge. The 45-year-old San Pedro man is scheduled to be sentenced in July, when he will face up to 10 years in prison. He is likely to receive a far lighter punishment, however."

(2,309 posts)"A Trump fan was just charged with trying to murder Maxine Waters on same day Trump threatened her," said a June 26, 2018, headline from The Washington Press, an online news website.
Facebook flagged this story as part of its efforts to combat false news and misinformation on Facebook's News Feed. (Read more about our partnership with Facebook.)
This story is false.
According to the inaccurate report, Trumps attack on Waters was a "barely veiled threat" based on a misunderstanding of Waters comments about the publics treatment of officials in the Trump administration. The tweet came in response to video footage that showed Waters, at a rally outside a federal office building in Los Angeles, encouraging Trump opponents to boo or harass Trump administrators in public spaces.
"Congresswoman Maxine Waters, an extraordinarily low IQ person, has become, together with Nancy Pelosi, the Face of the Democrat Party. She has just called for harm to supporters, of which there are many, of the Make America Great Again movement. Be careful what you wish for Max!," Trump wrote.
The false story said Trumps tweet coincided with a California mans guilty plea in relation to a murder threat delivered to Waters. The plea entered by Anthony Scott Lloyd, 45, of San Pedro, California proved that "the presidents hate-mongering towards Waters has real-life consequences," the story said.
The story erred in getting details and timing of real incidents wrong.
A man by the name of Anthony Scott Lloyd did, in fact, plead guilty to threatening a United States official. Lloyd phoned Waters office on Oct. 22, 2017, and left a voicemail riddled with derogatory language, including racial epithets and expletives. The message used the words "dead" and "kill" a total of four times, according to a press release from the Department of Justice.
