1.
Make the number of House-districts flexible, so that each district has the same number of voters.
2.
Gerrymandering and redistricting is done by a computer who doesn't know which voters have which affiliation.
3.
To reduce political partisanship, give more political parties a chance by doing away with winner-takes-all and switching to popular vote.
4.
Limit the influence of money in electoral campaigns.
5.
Judges are no longer a political tool because they are no longer elected. They are selected by a local commission of judges and attorney-generals. Also judgeship is no longer for life, not even in SCOTUS. Judges may only be members for a certain court for up to 15 years.
6.
Law-enforcement is declared a sensitive occupation. Any law-enforcement officer who commits a crime is forbidden from ever working again for law-enforcement or a government-agency similar to law-enforcement or the Department of Justice or the US-military or a government-agency similar to the US-military.

(22,651 posts)INCOME INEQUITY! and to MAKE CONGRESS RAISE THE FEDERAL MINIMUM WAGE- $7.25 an hour is NOT ENOUGH.
To raise the Federal minimum wage is OUR congresses JOB and they have failed the American people for many years!
Yes, this was Hillary Clintons platform as well, both Clintons and Senator Sanders are on the same page.
By the way Obama is 'working on' gerrymandering and district mapping problem and has had quite a few positive results in the Federal courts.

(155 posts)Bring back the Fairness Act. Allowing wealthy partisan broadcasters 100% over the political narrative has led to the rise of far right, conspiracy mucking information bubbles on radio and tv. Internet providers need to be held accountable for the false news and hate speech trafficked on their sites.
Next, immigration problems are only going to get worse in the coming years as climate change, rapid population growth, and mismanagement in poorer countries will produce ever more numbers of desperate people seeking a better life. Even the US Defence Department has stated this unequivocally. Rich nations, and the US in particular, need to recognize that the best defense is not more F15s and nuclear warheads, it is helping to build safe sustainable communities in poorer countries that people want to live in.

(10,912 posts)That's all I wanted Obama to do- reverse the damage to our rights that Bush took away. Now we have so much more shit to undo from tRump.
1. Restore the State Department
2. Undo all those fucked up tarrifs
3. Sign the Paris Accord
4. Restore Habeus Corpus (Obama mistake)
5. Net Neutrality
6. Neuter Homeland Security. Better yet do away with it.
7. Offer positions to all former department people who left under Pruitt and all those other assholes that 45 installed.
8. We need a whole new list of ethics rules for all government officials with very extreme and mandatory sanctions called out. This shit used to be so obvious, now the GOP has run roughshod over ethics in such a spectacular fashion we will need to spell this out very clearly and succinctly. Of course appropriate penalties must be spelled out as well.
9. I don't mind SCOTUS for life. We can replace all the libs on the court with youngsters that will long outlive Gorsuch. They simply volunteer to retire once the DNC gets in power. Pull 'em left!
10 Undo the notion that corporations are people.
11. Mandatory retirement in the Senate at 70. Let these guys go home to their wives and family. They have become so hooked on power that they will not leave on their own. Look at McTurtle- he looks like Smeagol, all worn away by the effects of his evil.

Pass legislation restoring voting rights act.
Pass legislation re Citizens Finance or adopt amendment forbidding corporate and big money in politics.
Launch Congressional investigation into ethical violations of Supreme Court Justices. Censure or impeach those with serious ethical violations. Pass a law requiring Code of Ethics for Supreme Court.
Codify ethical norms previous Presidents followed including releasing income tax and financial information before running or taking office.
Pass comprehensive and fair immigration reform.
That's just a few more to go along with the rest.
