THIS IS WAR

The pathetic cries from Republicans this week have been truly astounding in their tone-deafness and out-and-out stupidity – which sadly have become the hallmarks of a party desperate to distract from the obvious fact that their pResident is a fucking moron bent on the destruction of our democracy.

I keep hearing pleas from the GOP for everyone to be civil, while their Dear Leader continues to fan the flames of incivility every time he opens his mouth – or “tweets” his bullshit, being too cowardly to do otherwise.

“Let’s respect each other and find common ground,” they say – which is like saying that if only the Jews and the Nazis had sat down together and been civil to each other, they could come up with a Final Solution that would be acceptable to all concerned.

I remember when Republicans loved to quote Dubya saying “we don’t negotiate with terrorists”, which has now become “we don’t negotiate with our allies”. Let’s remember the now-infamous cry of ensuring that Obama was a one-term president, a tack the GOP adopted and strictly adhered to from the day Obama took office. The same people who cried “give Trump a chance” had already decided that Obama was to be given NO chance before he even embarked on his presidency, and long before he’d done anything for them to complain about.

In their desperation to normalize Trump, the Republicans simply say of his lying, his corruption, and his complete disdain for the rule of law, “Oh, that’s just who he is.” Well, Hitler was just who he was, too – and that didn’t work out well for the six million people who were exterminated, the deaths of millions of soldiers and civilians, and the utter destruction that followed in his wake.

What the Republicans are now attempting to do is to frame the division between citizens as a minor disagreement between good-intentioned Americans who are equally stubborn, equally angry, equally unwilling to sit down over a couple of brewskies and hammer-out a compromise between those who believe in our democracy and those who think democracy is an outdated, over-rated concept that is no longer relevant.

What is happening in our country is not some vague disagreement between political factions; it is a war between good and evil. It is a battle between those who are horrified by children being kidnapped and warehoused in cages and those who think it’s a grand idea. It is a fight between those who are willing to abandon every principle they’ve ever embraced, every religious tenet they’ve ever held sacred, every freedom they once held dear, in order to blindly follow a lying, corrupt racist whose mental state is questionable at best, and whose subservience to our enemies is beyond obvious.

Above all, the debate we are now supposed to engage in can never be argued based on the facts, because one side no longer recognizes anything other than the “alternative facts” they have come to accept without question. If Trump declares that two plus two equals eight, his adherents will scramble to adjust their mathematical thinking to accommodate his decree – and don’t find anything odd about his declaration two hours later that two plus two actually equals seventy-six.

This is not a matter of let’s play nice and get along, because the Dear Leader of the opposition is the one who is dividing us – by race, by class, by colour, by ethnic origins – in order to keep us at war with each other.

I’ve heard several GOP spokes-whores in the past week state that people who are being confronted in public – like Sarah Huckabee and Kirstjen Nielsen – have a private life that should be acknowledged as sacrosanct when they are out in public and away from their jobs. I guess the Republicans haven’t noticed that the parents whose babies have been stolen don’t get to take off their prison garb after work hours and gather at a local eatery – in the same way they’re unaware that concentration camp inmates never got to check out of Auschwitz at five o’clock and just be “regular folk” at the local beer hall. “Oh, look, there’s Mengele at the next table – let’s forget he’s an inhumane a monster while he’s off the clock.”

In a last-ditch attempt to try and convince the populace that Herr Trump is anything other than the monster HE is, the GOP has taken to dangling shiny objects before their brain-dead constituents, things like “the rule of law” being expendable, and “massive tax-cuts for the middle-class” being a few dollars more in a paycheck that won’t even put a dent in the debt they’ve incurred on behalf of the hard-working Americans they’ve sworn to serve and protect from an escalating national debt that only benefits the wealthiest among us.

It’s often been said that there are none so blind as those who will not see, and we are now at a point in our national discourse where those who truly love their country have seen the pointlessness of engaging with the wilfully blind. They are beyond the reach of common sense, as well as being beyond the call of human decency. There can be no civility between those who revere our freedoms and those blindly obedient to a man who seeks to destroy them.

So buckle-up your seatbelts, true Americans – we’re in for a bumpy ride in the days to come. Stay vigilant, stay focused, and as we have been told, “If you see something, SAY something”. And if that something looks like a Hitler wanna-be and his minions, shout it down from the rooftops before it’s too late to say anything at all.

We, the decent people who abhor the nightmare of the Trump “presidency” must unite in our efforts to save our country from the ignorant fool who was installed in the Oval Office by equally ignorant fools – with no small assistance from our country’s enemies.

The time is now, our objectives are unmistakable, our cause is just – and the incessant whinging of our enemies is our clarion call.

It’s time to show Republicans what “stand your ground” looks like when that position is upheld and defended by real patriots who love their country, and refuse to accept defeat as an option.

So go ahead, Sarah and Kirstjen, and whine about the fact that decent people don’t want you in their midst. I’m sure Goebles and Goering faced the same insensitivity – and yet somehow managed to muddle through without whining like the pigs everyone knew them to be.

This IS war, people - and those who started it are now begging for a truce before they get their asses kicked in November. Tell them, no uncertain terms, that our defeat is not an option, and they are about to go down with the titanic idiot they chose to cling to as the icy waters of reality drown them all.

Fuck'em all. When they practice civility for at least 3 decades and put up with the vilest insults a human can think of - like they did and still do to us - then maybe we will consider making nice again. Until then, fuck their feelings.

Get your rabid dog under control. Apologize and kiss Obama's ass for all of the shit you put him through. Apologize to Nancy Pelosi for all the bullshit you said about her. Apologize to Elizabeth Warren, and most of all, apologize to Hillary Clinton for the 30+ years of bullshit you put her and her family through... then we can talk about civility.

When Republicans call for civility they are calling for Democrats to stop fighting back.

Perfect.
General Eisenhower didn't want Germany 'punished' after WWII the same way that they had been after WWI (because he was smart enough to understand what had led to the Nazi State, I suspect), but he damn sure DID have the regular townsfolk clean out the concentration camps...so they would NEVER be able to deny what they had helped bring about.
Uncivil of him?
Mabye. But that shit WORKED is all I'm sayin.

I want 'regular Republicans' to have to own this misadministration for a goddamn hundred years. It's the only way.

I think a lot of our problems, including that orange fuck in the White House, are due to the fact that we didn't do much more than give them a little slap on the wrist after the war. We should have rode them hard for years to make sure the culture and institutions changed. But of course we had no will to do that since it would be a hell of a lot more effort than leaving the south to its own devices

Mueller must be closing in. He gets the same deference Republicans gave Obama. Our system has been gamed and it is neither majority rule nor the representative democracy first envisioned by Aristotle. Our system has been perverted and the leadership reflects that perversion.

Not 88, not 2000 & not 2004. This was an altogether different feeling, a sickening, sinking feeling. I have to believe we, as a nation, will survive this. In the future historians will not be kind to this administration, this Cabinet, or this feckless, cowardly Re-Trump-li-CON party.

I'd like to add on this, the desire / offer to sit down and hammer out a compromise is in effect only until the next time the repugs and dRump decide to issue an insane blistering accusation of treason against the people who believe in our democracy.

In fact, they could be on another channel issuing that attack at the very same second one of their flacks is on the tube calling for civility and offering bipartisan compromise.

Really - they're just morning commute drive time fucking shock jocks. They're the Trey & Cooter Show on 102.3 KUGR FM. They just stupid shit because the one thing they love is to "trigger the snowflake". This latest exercise is just another example in a long list of shock jock values. Yeah they talk a lot of shit about "second amendment solutions" and triggering the snowflakes, but you know what? In the end, they'll never act on what they say. They just do it for shock value. Ann Coulter is a shock jock. So is Mike Huckabee and Sarah Palin, and even Donald Trump - that's all they are. And you know the best way to treat a shock jock? Ignore them.

The vast majority are totally in tune with the so-called First Lady's sentiments: I really don't care. Do you? The fascists full well know that the can win this war without a shot. If people really were concerned with what is happening, the White House would be under siege 24 hour a day and capital would be surrounded with millions demanding the cessation of this administration. People would actually know what was transpiring and actually show up to vote. Good luck America; you are going to really need it. Some are hoping that maybe they will have some type of religious epiphany such as an awakening of conscience. I don't think that even exorcism would be effective on these imps. They are like something that crawled out of the depths of hell and worship a sexual predator, con-man, habitual liar, misogynist, bastard of the first order.
