Older, but interesting article on Solyndra and thoughts on Trump Solar

https://www.fastcompany.com/1678598/whats-really-happening-at-solyndra

It's weird - I'm in a small debate on Facebook about a local solar power situation and how it relates to Trumps moves on solar.

Interestingly - we are now in a world where Trump Base Conservatives are all rah-rah about Solar Power!!!?

How can it be?

They love the tariff and want Solar Panel manufacturing in the USA.

Compared to the Obama-era Solyndra "scandal" (posted link for some backstory about its demise)

So - they've abandoned what...50 years opposition to "environmental whackos" and alternatives - because Trump has basically dismissed the whole notion and said - "this way forward"??

That's not Trumps DIRECT message - the direct message is "JOBS" & "MADE IN USA" - but the base gobbles that up - and abandons their position.

WTF?

Im in a position in this FB debate where I basically have to make them realize how far they've come toward supporting liberal ideas (alternative power - not necessarily tariffs)

Have to admit - Trump can move the base...in this case - probably the right direction.

I think I understand Trumps play on solar - short term pain - long term gain.

Maybe.
