(2,692 posts)Not to wander too off-topic, but 1-800-got-junk helped me get empty out my garage. Kudos to the activists, of course. I hope they continue doing their great work to underscore the Nazi-level evils of the current Leader. But I had to give the junk-removal company a shout-out.
Maybe they could bring a couple trucks to the White House? During a cabinet meeting?

(36,445 posts)INDECLINE, a group that describes itself as an "activist art collective," claimed responsibility for the vandalization.
INDECLINE has made national headlines before.
In March, the group claimed responsibility for vandalizing a billboard near Las Vegas. The billboard originally read "Shoot a .50 caliber only $29" at Battlefield Vegas and was changed to read "Shoot a school kid only $29."
In 2016, the group placed naked Donald Trump statues in several cities in the U.S. They were quickly taken down, but one sold at auction for $22,000.

(18,124 posts)of course Hans Christian Anderson meant it differently, yet this photo epitomizes our current potus, completely. He did promise to provide 'new clothes' metaphorically to his base of deplorable ameriKKKans. All he's brought them is SHAME AND HATE.

(3,256 posts)Billboards cost are based on traffic counts and an run thousands per month. However, it is also a good example of money being real free speech. I remember one of our local right wing billionaires posting the whole metro area with anti public transit billboards. So how do we get the message across against the megabucks media when we simply have no money. I agree it would be preferrable to buy one, but we can't win in the money game. They can always buy more billboards,TV,Radio ad infinitum.

(2,809 posts)The regular commuters know what the sign is, and would normally dismiss it as daily sight.
Now a good chuckle despite the message, will not only keep the seed of enlightenment on the situation watered, but will see that sign in the future as a beacon of a good message.
"Got Junk" might lose a few radical RW customers who can't get past their hatreds.
And likely gain a ton of attention (and business) onto their similar, and the replacement sign.
If they see a spike in business...
They ought to pay the vandals to change signs with shock value messages regularly.

(65,409 posts)even more free advertising. People (like me!) who have never heard of them but who actually might want to use such a service now know it exists.
