1. Yes; he's a Baptist minister.

did throw out that openly racist church in GA recently and there was apparently some discord by the members over social issues. Not that I am counting on real progress from them.

3. The Southern Baptist Convention is not empowered to discipline Church members.

Each congregation is autonomous and alone has the authority to discipline members. I don't know where or if Chuckles (as we called him in Arkansas back in the day) is a current Church member. If there is such a Church, it could institute disciplinary action.

Historically, Baptist churches would "church" members for various notorious sins. I've never seen or heard of any Church doing it in my lifetime.

I suspect that if the practice was reinstated, I would be an early subject of proceedings for "heresy."

To judge from Mike's recent behavior, they don't take that prohibition, against bearing false witness, very seriously

A minister has to pretty much do something illegal that is also immoral to get called out.

United Methodists have more structure and governance from outside individual churches.
