In my opinion, they should report more on the way he divides our country, instead of uniting us.
The division is going to create very serious problems for our country and our people. He should be called out every time he does it.
He does things that no other leader of America would have never thought of doing. He is a disease on the soul of America.

(6,916 posts)George Lakoff is great and has written extensively on how the press should cover Trump, if the press cares about truth.

(24,259 posts)tape it, annotate it then show the lies and facts simultaneously.
Same goes with Sanders and the press briefings.
They need to tape delay these people for the good of the nation.

(10,842 posts)the Trumpster's contradictions and lies. Then weirdly enough I caught Chris Jansing doing exactly that with the ever-changing immigration stance. She brought up the video of the Trumspter taking one position--we've got to take the children--then played the video when he did his 180--making a lot of people happy schtick. Back and forth, back and forth with each contradictory statement. It made for an effective montage.
Now is that going to change the diehards and their complete surrender to Trump?
No. But it could, in fact, encourage the non-crazy element to think and examine the lack of leadership this constant unmerrry-go-round represents.
Then there are the Democratic candidates themselves, how they express the Party's message directly to the electorate. I just listened to an interview with Ojeda from West Virginia. The man is on fire. The message to his constituents is simple:
I see you. I'm with you. I will serve you.
Doesn't get any simpler or more effective than that. With or without the press, Ojeda is going to win this one. For his own people.
