They perpetrated a crime against humanity. The callous disregard for the humanity and dignity of these families, based on racism against Latino people, is criminal. And for what? A psychopath playing a political game. These people made a decision to terrorize and traumatize children for the politics. They are monsters.
The one thing that gives me hope is that there are so many who are helping and determined to reunite these families. Non-profits and lawyers are offering to help. My Heritage is offering free DNA testing to help. There are whistleblowers coming forward.
What has occurred on the border should result in the end of this administration. I hope people land in prison over this, and I am not talking about the immigrants.

That was, to say the least, disappointing, because like you, I believe there MUST be a tribunal when we can finally force the issue. Yes, there have been a whole bunch of odious, disgusting things the Trump administration has done - we can go down the list, but I'm not going to because you know it as well as I do. We've gone step by step down the darkening stair that leads to the abyss.
But this 'separation' policy is a crime against humanity. Trump and his minions are guilty of atrocities, as are the ICE agents who did not resign in protest of this horrible, cruel policy. They all need to be put on trial.
And you know, we did not accept, "I was only following orders" at Nuremberg and we should not accept this from the brutal agents and the people manning the private for-profit 'tender age' Trump concentration camps.
I do not see how any normal person could not feel a cold, enduring anger at such a horrible humanitarian crisis. And he's not even doing anything about it - yeah he scrawled on an executive order, but ICE is still going to drag their feet. Children and families are still going to suffer.
And why? So a few ku kluxers can feel incrementally more powerful?
This whole thing has been sick.

(175,758 posts)Because these are brown children who don't fit the Trumpian image, they are disposable. I want to see these SOBs tried at The Hague.
What would they do if one of these children died while in government custody? Cover it up?
