Is going to go away and be forgotten. No it is going to get worst as more stories emerge of the inhuman treatment of these kids because of his administration zero tolerance policy will haunt him up to 2020. Outside of the faux bubble the mainstreams media is going to keep this story in the headlines. Nice payback for them for Twitler calling them fake news. The upcoming images and stories of abuse will be a chain around his neck.
Couldnt happen to an eviler person.

(30,613 posts)This (as I always said of the Russia scandal) is going to get bigger, and BIGGER, and BIGGER. It's going to peel away huge numbers of independents who may have been OK with racism and sexism, but kidnapping and who knows what else Trump is hiding, are just too big a leap to make.

(40,220 posts)They have no respect for the American people. They think we are all rubes. They think we are all like the Trumpers who go to his stupid rallies and that seeing a row of high chairs will make us think "Oh, look at those nice high chairs. Why are people complaining/"
The ugly truth is that Trump and Sessions and the other ghouls in the White House thought Americans wouldn't care about children from Central America. They made the mistake of thinking that every one else in the country was a sick racist like them.
I think since yesterday it is evident that this isn't going to go away.

(1,294 posts)Because he signed a meaningless piece of paper. Until Border & Customs control agents and ICE are compelled to stop separating families and until justice and HHS along with Homeland Security are compelled to reunite kids with parents, the high pitched scream from we the people and the world will continue.

We just must make sure to continue haunting him while we all still take breaths. We must make sure the media does as well.

(24,437 posts)We now need to be talking about this new indefinite detention policy that is supposed to be illegal.

(21,188 posts)When the WSJ attacks this policy you know this story is not going to die anytime soon.
And any Twitler supporter I encounter, I have bible passages and things to say to try to shame them if possible.

(10,721 posts)And then the ball will be in Congress's court. That will put Republicans in a tough spot.

(24,437 posts)I just hope the media furor doesn't die down. Things were at a fever pitch yesterday but seems quieter today.

(10,721 posts)That will remind everyone that no actual reunification is taking place.
And the court ruling, which can't happen soon enough, will put the issue front and center again.

(5,210 posts)Even though it was entirely figurative, not literal, I was uncomfortable with the imagery possibly being mistaken for something it wasn't.

(26,505 posts)the press goes. They don't have the attention span to continue with any story of real importance. Plus the editors will tell their reporters to "move along to the next big thing".
