A Trump voter at work told me god put Trump in the Whithouse, I went off.

I asked him, how do you know it wasn't the devil you asshole? I then told him when his time comes and he arrives at the pearly gates, he will find a sign hanging on the pearly gates that reads, No hypocrites allowed.

He also told me I could not where my anti-Trump shirts at work or talk badly about Trump. I told him to go fuck himself. He will probably turn me into management. If management says something to me I will tell them to go fuck themselves.

Kidnapping babies was the final straw me. I will not shut up. I will tell Trump votes what I think of them. Fuck all of them. If I get fired, I'm only 59 years old, I will find another job.

When I told my wife what happened I was worried she would say you can't lose your job, be careful .My wife simply said, good. Love that women.

Fri Jun 22, 2018, 12:36 AM
Jun 2018

"This person insisted on discussing politics and religion with me and didn't like my answers at least as much as I didn't like theirs. If they insist on having inappropriate conversations with me in the future I wouldn't be at all surprised if the outcome was the same. I recommend we simply refrain from such controversial discussions in the course of our work."

Ultimately, turnover and discipline is an unpleasant waste management's time. They would prefer the dust to settle and work to continue. That response gives them an easy way to allow that to happen and makes you the calm and sensible person to deal with.

The same thing happened to me. When I was a Medical Assistant working in a private clinic, my boss, the doctor (a rabid right-winger) fired me abruptly one Friday. He told me it wasn't because of our political differences, and made a pretty good case for another reason, but I'm sure it was a decisive factor.

Anyway, I had another job by that following Tuesday; a job which set me on the path to get me where I am today. I couldn't be happier about that.

A number of years later, I ran in to my old boss, the doctor. He had sold his practice and gone to work for the VA.

As a president, he would have appointed Neil Gorsuch to SCOTUS and gleefully signed the tax cut bill to gift big bucks to very rich bosses/oligarchs and crumbs to all the middle income hardworking employees. If we want to preserve unions, workers rights and conditions and, call me crazy, to raise the minimum wage to the living wage level that even less-wealthy countries like Australia have, then John Kasich and his ilk are enemies of socio-economic progress.

workplace regulations. In other words, congress cannot pass a law against expressing your political views on your clothing, but your boss can. I'd say this place is pretty liberal on the subject if it allows anti- Trump t-shirts at work.

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.

Probably all state constitutions have its counterpart, but again those say states can't pass laws abridging the freedom of speech.

When PINO got his inheritance, the money could have been broad based invested in a variety of index funds and would have accumulated to 3x what was claimed as the peak net worth.

By taking that to 2x, he could have lived off a yearly income, for more than 4 decades, of between 350 and 570 times the median household income. On top of that, that 350 to 570 is after tax money, compared to GROSS household income.

So, living like Louis XIV for more than 4 decades, there would still be a net worth of 2x what was claimed by DOING NOTHING! No BKO's, no stiffing contractors, no breaking deals, no branding, no stupid TV show.

This great business man is far less wealthy with that great business acumen than he would have been by doing nothing but living off the yield.

This will not end until we make it end. I just can't believe that the company wouldn't be setting themselves up for a major lawsuit if they fired you because of your political beliefs. It infuriates me that the Trumpsters seem to feel they have to right to spew his hatred an any time, but the rest of us have to walk on eggshells, and never utter a word about our political beliefs. You can't "talk badly about Trump"? Fuck him. I'm willing to bet he's like every other Trump voter...just like Hair Furor, he's at best a fucking coward that gets his way by bullying and trying to intimidate others. Just make sure you don't come to work a minute late and give them an excuse to fire you.

It unfortunately will not be easy for you to find another job at 59, depending on what you do for a living. But I used to tell my late husband...you're the one who has to look at himself in the mirror every morning. If you can't work for these people for moral, ethical, or legal reasons, walk. We'll get by.

I have to admit we went through some tough times financially...it didn't matter. I worked, we got by, and we both kept our self-esteem. It was worth it.

If White House reporters had stopped sucking up to senior officials to get their "scoops", these child separations could have been stopped due to public outrage after dozens, not thousands, of families were separated. They then could have been quickly reunited. Thanks for nothing, Rucker and all the other craven White House Press corps toadies like him.

So maybe he is man enough not to say anything to management. You never know, I have met so many losers in the work place in my 40 years of employment.

Yes , it would be scary trying to find a job at 59 years old. I simply cannot let fear stop me from doing what is right. Fear is one of the biggest problems we have in this country. I cannot remain silent. They have gone to far.

I was wearing my "Trump is the Swamp " T-shirt the day we argued.

53. And what did this Trump voter wear to work or have on his stuff when Pres. Obama was in charge?

Does he also have that NOTW/God Warrior/Dominionist talking points on his tees, cups, office placards/meme pics and bumper stickers? Has he been known to go around spouting nonsense about "Libtards" and "Obummer" and other GOP/RWNJ crap?
I have yet to find a Evilangelical Drumpf Kult member who can't go an hour, much less a workday, without foisting their pathetic bigotry and fear-filled ignorance on co-workers and acquaintances.

If the guy has EVER used "libtard" in a conversation, it's a very offensive term. "Trump is the Swamp" is a pretty mild comment, inoffensive to everyone but swamps.
If Jerky Boy has been consistent with his rhetoric, one of the meanings of "Harassment" has to do with "creating an atmosphere'.

I think you should not have put your job in jeopardy by expressing your beliefs using such harsh words. You could have expressed your beliefs without putting your job in jeopardy because now you can be accused of creating a hostile work environment and that gives your boss an excuse to fire you. It's better for our side to have you stay in that workplace so that you can continue to express your beliefs then be fired for expressing your beliefs too harshly.

So I took a different tack since t-shirts aren't allowed per the dress code anyhow. I bought this on amazon:

Hope this helps. I have a conservative African-American at my workplace, I know its driving him crazy, but he won't ask what it means.

92. My advice for what it's worth

Calm down and think up some choice rejoinders and practice them a bit so they come to mind when you need them.

I find that humor, especially cutting humor laced with sarcasm is the best weapon.

When anyone says God likes Trump they don’t expect a sarcastic response like, “So God has a soft spot for pussy grabbers?”

Or “Evidently God really hates Mexican babies. Well that’s a good thing to know!” or, “I wonder why God created brown people if he hates them so much.”

Don’t lose your job over these assholes. They aren’t worth it!

I would counsel any worker exposing a pro/anti religion or pro/anti a trump message to stop immediately.

Any employee of mine that tells another to fuck off would be looking for a new job. And my Union Steward would not disagree. If someone insults you let me know and I will deal with it.

I wish I could find the citation from Ezekiel that says the sin of Sodom and Gomorrah was greed and selfishness such that they let people starve outside their gates. I'd add that if I could find it again.

he knows I believe in God although I'm not outwardly a religious person. So I said I wasnt sure about that because did he really think God had a hand in our elections? SO he quickly responded "Of course, God controls everything". I said "Well, ok. Then I guess God also placed Obama in the WH for 8 yrs. Because He IS in charge after all"
He didnt really know what to say but he had to agree to a certain extent. Because I reminded him, God could have taken Obama OUT after just 1 term, but chose to give him a second!
Then he changed the subject to college football.
