I think I know why trump and co. didn't keep records of where the kids disappeared to.

The Nazi party kept meticulous records everyplace, even in the extermination camps.
Those records helped convict them of the atrocities.

Nuff said.

4. A lot of these kids are so young they won't remember their families at all

and they will have no way of even knowing where to look for them once they grow up. I suspect in the years, and more realistically decades, to come non-profits will have to set up DNA databases for anyone who lost their kids, and any kids who lost their parents, to try to re-connect them.

5. That may be part of it but I think it's more basic than that

They don't see these people -- these adults and children -- as fully human. You wouldn't worry all that much about all the pets "lost" during a Hurricane (tho most of us animal lovers do), and that's about as much care and concern as they're giving these children and their parents.

This is all John Kelly's doing. He is one evil bastard, and I'm realizing that more and more as time goes on.

Even though he doesn't like the trump family or being around them.

He wants to use his power to carry out his hatred against minorities.

6. Or it could be sheer incompetence, which is more likely.

This policy was pulled out of Trump's ass in April with little warning to the agencies. All of a sudden they were instructed to separate kids and parents and put the kids somewhere, which involved transferring them from the jurisdiction of DHS to that of HHS. And there has been no coordination between the two agencies - the parents are being held by ICE (DHS) and the kids have been sent to facilities controlled by HHS, without any system linking the agencies so they could match the kids with parents. It was guaranteed to be a disaster because Trump and his minions are both evil and incompetent.

Imagine Satan as one of the Three Stooges.

11. Kelly said dismissively that the kids would be put in "foster care or whatever." There was no plan

because nobody involved cared in the slightest about these precious little ones or saw them as fully humans with rights who were entitled to be dealt with responsibly and empathically. The indifference of the Trump junta to the trauma they have inflicted is beyond reprehensible.

You know in the twitlers past he was involved with underaged hookers. Who’s to say he’s not helping out old friends who could blackmail him? I would not put it past this cretin.

And I hope I am dead wrong. Something’s stinks about these unaccounted girls.

Who would even kmow?
They aren’t letting media take pictures of faces.
Efforts to avoid tracking them?

I knew someone who grew up starving who wanted to steal lunch from some other kid. When they were all out at recess,he snuck in and mixed all the lunches up and then stole a couple, figuring in the chaos no one would figure it out.

This is beyond the pale.

But make no mistake, this is Donald Trump...not Miller or anyone else. This could be to spit in the eye of Vicente Fox and Mexico and to bring our relationship with them to the point of being military antagonists. His language on sanctuary cities and "they're breeding them" or some such makes me believe the very worst is possible.

12. Perhaps. But I'm not sure that Trump & Co. see any risk of prosecution.

We didn't prosecute the war criminals who water-boarded prisoners. We don't prosecute crimes after elections. We "move on."

There is also Hanlon's Razor to consider.
