Judge Napolitano on Political Fallout From Migrant Family Separation: The Democrats Have Captured the Day
by Ken Meyer | 1:13 pm, June 20th, 2018
As Donald Trump seems about ready to reverse on his administrations policy on the southern border, Judge Andrew Napolitano says the president seems to have lost the politcal battle on this issue.
The Fox News senior judicial analyst was todays #OneLuckyGuy on Outnumbered, and his conversation with the ladies gravitated around the long-term connotations of Trumps policy separating migrant children from their families. As Napolitano talked about how Trump and his political opponents have used the migrant situation as a negotiation point, he said that the White Houses current trajectory shows that theyve realized the current controversy is too politically damaging to sustain.
As the discussion turned to what Congress needs to do to follow up on Trumps executive actions here, Napolitano said POTUS will defuse the worst of the blowback to himself by showing compassion at this moment. He particularly expressed support for the bill Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) proposed earlier this week to change the immigration system and keep families together.

(18,672 posts)I'm afraid Trump will sign this meaningless order and continue business as usual. This administration and the entire GOP are utterly lawless and immoral. I don't trust they will stop doing what they are doing to these families, and I don't trust that they will make any sort of effort whatsoever to ensure the children already separated are reunited with their parents. We need to keep holding their feet to the fire.

(82,849 posts)Nothing more or less to the likes of Andrew Napolitano. The kidnappings, the torture, the abuse, all to be subordinated to who "captured the day." If only the administration had worked their message better, they could have "won"; is that what Napolitano is saying here? It sure sounds like it.
Would you like to reconsider your comments, Andrew, and come back in again?

This is all theatrics to Trump. All about protecting his image, power, and money. Sickening.

(11,885 posts)It had a bunch of things to further prevent immigrants any reasonable path for citizenship with it, and full of holes. Another scam for PR , and this is also to be expected from the liar ted cruz. Another fraud claiming to be something good, when it isn't. No Democrat should vote for that. Then trump can claim obstruction, obstruction . Trump is a criminal , and cruz promoting this as something good is also. Was this planned to give them a way out, another excuse to claim Dems are to blame, probably. cruz is crooked as they come , and nothing he says or does should be trusted .
