Melania Trump Called the Secret Service Over Peter Fonda's Threatening Tweet About Barron

Actor Peter Fonda, brother of Jane Fonda and son of Henry Fonda, has been pretty upset on his Twitter account about recent events at the U.S.-Mexico border and separation of families. So upset, in fact, that he referred to White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders and Secretary of Homeland Security Kirstjen Nielsen as “gashes.”

As if that wasn’t bad enough, he suggested that Barron Trump should be kidnapped and caged with pedophiles.

“WE SHOULD RIP BARRON TRUMP FROM HIS MOTHER’S ARMS AND PUT HIM IN A CAGE WITH PEDOPHILES AND SEE IF MOTHER WILL WILL STAND UP AGAINST THE GIANT ASSHOLE SHE IS MARRIED TO. 90 MILLION PEOPLE IN THE STREETS ON THE SAME WEEKEND IN THE COUNTRY. FUCK,” Fonda tweeted Monday.

The Daily Caller is reporting that this offensive and threatening tweet was referred to the Secret Service. This was confirmed by a Melania Trump spokeswoman.

While I am pretty sure Peter Fonda had no intention on following through with his proposed idea, he put it out there to his followers and everyone else on Twitter. I saw it as threatening.

Fonda took it too far. As hard as it is not to want to punch the face of every single person who tries to justify Session's zero tolerance policy, it is wrong to threaten to commit violence against other children in retaliation. It's the same thing the GOP is doing - demonizing immigrants and then cruelly punishing their children. As a mother, I would most definitely take action if my child were threatened like that, so I understand Melania alerting authorities.

Still, FUCK TRUMP. We will never be able to unsee the horrific ugliness of his administration and supporters, but becoming like them is just going to increase the number of vile people in this country. We will need to be ever vigilant to ensure this nightmare ends as soon as possible with as little casualties as possible (a little late for that).

Yes, when I read the tweet by Peter Fonda I cringed and thought that he surely should have chosen different words to express his outrage.
