I don't know what is the worse outcome of this "summit"

Either Trump does something to antagonize Kim and we end up more in a position for war than where we started....

...or.....

...Trump gets along splendidly with a brutal dictator and heaps all sorts of praise upon him without accomplishing anything of significance in terms of diplomacy, just days after burning bridges and tearing down our closest allies.

1. I think the "worst" outcome would be Trump makes peace and validates his diplomacy.

For us as Democrats, the "worst possible option" would be, Kim agrees unconditionally to Trump's terms, the Koreas disarm and unite, and Trump returns triumphant as the vindicated leader of the free world. The precedent that would set is unthinkable as far as diplomacy goes.

6. Do you honestly think this is even remotely possible?

Honest question here, just curious as to your state of mind.

9. No, but outside nuclear apocalypse, what worse outcome can you think of?

The OP was a statement on "which would be worse", but diplomatic failure isn't the only way something can go wrong. In this case, Trump succeeding where far better presidents have failed will, de facto, be a confirmation of his "diplomacy" and potentially encourage further diplomatic efforts backed by force. That would potentially lead to global instability and possibly a third world war.

In regards to if I think it will -actually- happen, no. Not in the least. Trump's an idiot and Kim is an egomaniacal tyrant. The chances of those two reaching an accord of peace are very low, but they are not 0%. It's not -impossible-, just incredibly unlikely.

13. That would be an example of success in despite of itself, but again....

...when has anything Trump has ever done as President actually succeeded in the long term or stood without finding out about some terrible downside after the fact? Coasting on the economy Obama gave him as long as he can doesn't count.

Half of what Trump has done is either stuck in the courts or pending some sort of lawsuit or another. I couldn't tell you one policy that he's put in place, but I'm more a historian than a political analyst. Like I said, I don't forsee any progress being made in this summit, but as someone who deals with probability and random unexpected odds occuring on a daily basis, a non-0% chance of an event is by no means a guarantee that said event won't happen. You'd think a 14 card 21 in Blackjack would be "impossible", but when you see them two, three times a month, you start to ignore what "shouldn't" happen.

Anyways, gotta jet. Have a great day, mate. o7

4. That won't happen. Kim will never agree to denuclearize.

He'll play games and maybe make some empty promises, just like his predecessors have been doing for decades: playing Lucy with the football. The one thing Kim will not give up is his nukes because they give him power and the ability to claim legitimacy as an international "player." Without them he's just another tin-pot dictator in a shithole country that nobody cares about.

12. Trump will be friends with Kim

Kim will flatter him. Trump will drop sanctions in exchange for denuclearization. Trump will appoint Carter Page to verify Kim's compliance.

Trump just shred a multi-party negotiated deal with Iran even though they had specifically agreed to not continue developing nuclear weapons (and were at a far less advanced stage than NK is) and were, by the judgments of everybody but Trump and his followers, in compliance with the agreement. If I were Kim, I wouldn't trust that somebody won't whisper in Trump's ear the next day and tell him to shred any deal that Trump makes with him.

Pretty sure that's worse than Trump beating his chest.

declare victory, and lift some sanctions on North Korea. Whereas the North Koreans will give up very little in return.
