If this summit turns out bad....

(which is the most likely outcome)?

Who will Trump blame for the failure?

a) the press?

b) the American people?

c) the North Korea?

d) other?

e) not himself or Putin?

Extra credit:

What will Trump do, once again, to embarrass the U.S.?

7. Is trump and Kim smiling and announcing further talks a success or failure? That's what we are

likely to get, at best.

I'm preparing for the BS from trump about how he looked Kim right in the eyes and saw his soul, or some such crud.

Business as usual: Praise the 'Rocket Man', and bash G7 in the 'Mother of all' tweet-storms.

I'm just hoping things don't get worse

I'm not sure what to do if somehow a meaningful agreement comes out of this. Thankfully that is about as likely as a flipped coin landing on edge

10. It isn't going to turn out "bad" for 45

Both he and Kim know what this about, a photo op for both to use back home.

The gambit Pompei is playing it so give them the house to get them to give up ballistic missles down the road, but what actually happens won't matter.

If absolutely nothing happens, Trump will say "GREAT WIN FOR AMERICA!" and ...

1) Right wing media will chant NOBEL
2) The lunatic base will swoon over that
3) The "liberal media" will enable it
4) The "middle" will use this as the rationale for their deep seeded "feeling that everyone is piling on poor 45."

What we saw late last week was a power move by Putin and 45 to get the base on board with rejecting our traditional /ideological allies, and this will be the feel good to counter balance that.

That is what is about.

Polling a few months from now will show a BIG majority of republicans in favor of moving away from our long standing allies - Canada, England, France, Germany in favor of aligning with Russia.

That's the end game.

If Kim feels insulted, it could take a different turn on Trump.

That said, I'm expecting it to turn into a flattery orgy.

But he'll more than likely lie his ass off again , and say he's saving the world, but in reality he's endangering the world more. He doesn't do truth.

They will speak of him as having been courageous, brave and bold. If nothing real comes out of it, it will be framed as Trump listened and walked away when what he thought was acceptable did not happen -- unlike John Kerry and Obama with Iran.

A scarier view was given in an article in Haaretz, that the point is to quiet down North Korea by having this summit lead to lower level discussions. This (per the erticle) precludes either side attacking as you don't do that when negotiating. (In fact, they had not exhausted the diplomacy that was ongoing when they attacked Iraq.) This, per the article, lets Trump initiate a war on Iran. (again, I think there are a few logical things ignored - mostly that the US is very against another Middle Eastern war.)
