Americans are at not racially stereotyping?
That how's good the rest of the world is at separating Dems from Trump.
I know no one wants to be tarred with the Trump brush, but like Brits and Brexit, Trump IS America right now.
That doesn't mean that Germans for example hate you. But it does mean that they aren't buying that Trump cause isn't 'America'.
Put it another way, if Trump is voted out in 2020 (like hindsight) the world will say 'America has come to its senses". Not, "racist midweaterners and white men scared of losing their grip on society have come to their senses."
Which means of course that if "America has come to its senses" then everyone though - generally speaking - that America is responsible for Trump.
And I say this as a US expat that travels around Europe as part of my job. Europeans and Asians... They're blaming America. They're not subtly delineating.
They don't understand how it happened. Even with Russian involvement. Even with Comey.
Because Trump - as we all know - is a symptom of much bigger AMERICAN problems. And - very likely - a harbinger of things to come. And the world knows that as well.
The Iraq War was really the end of the world giving US citizens a pass and blaming the government. This is two US made disasters in the space of three Presidents. It's not just an issue with one guy.
