10. Retaining water by itself is usually not a deadly thing.

However, the cause of that water retention can be serious. Sometimes the heart is in distress, sometimes it's the kidneys. Sometimes it's less serious stuff like prolonged sitting on a flight making blood pool in lower limbs unless you get up and move a bit.

Given the reputed Big Mac diet the orange one is reported to favor, coupled with his less than fit appearance, it's not too surprising that people are speculating on his health status.

Here's an interesting tidbit, BTW. The CIA actually has trained medical people who work as analysts observing pictures and film of "persons of interest" to look for signs of unannounced illness like swelling and water retention, growths, and any other visible symptoms. I'd assume other intelligence organizations do that too.

with edema on the left, compared to normal on the right. These are not of me, but I have an autoimmune disorder and see this difference during flares. And as eShirl says for "pitting."
