I am not going right I am going forward. I was watching an interview with a graduate from west point. Sorry don't remember her name. I am taking her quote and using it for my quote of the week.

(4,404 posts)But what is it really saying? That you can't progress if you have strong political opinions?
Poppycock I say.

(59 posts)I have become more spiritual than religious, but I do believe in Jesus Christ. I just don't believe in the way some folks interpret his teaching. He loves us all not matter what

(20,166 posts)We can go forward into a hole or off a cliff or into wandering lost in the wilderness. I want to go forward too (that's why I consider myself a progressive), only I want to have some kind of destination in mind and a map of some sort showing how best to get there.
inthemiddle2
(59 posts)I meant off a cliff or in a hole. If being a progressive is your way to identify with going forward than going forward is being progressive. I would like to think I am open minded, I want to hear both sides and make my own opinion.
I like some of what the president has done, like universal health care. I don't like that one day he is against gay marriage and then the next day he is for gay marriage only to back peddle against it again. In this life if we can find someone to love and share our lives with than we are lucky. I wish I could find love and it shouldn't matter to anyone who I share my life with. That is my personal opinion.
All I was trying to do on this board was express myself. Man this board can be tuff.

(20,166 posts)All I was doing was asking forward into what? Further into more corporatism and austerity? Forward out of all of that and into something more democratic (small "d" , egalitarian, and fair? Nice catchphrases don't really mean a lot without something more substantial defining them.
Sorry you took offense, but if pressing for more information is what you consider tuff, your skin will need to become a little thicker if you continue to post here.

(22,756 posts)I'm taking "The road less traveled" and that will make all the difference
Thanks be to Robert Frost...
And sorry I could not travel both
And be one traveler, long I stood
And looked down one as far as I could
To where it bent in the undergrowth;
Then took the other, as just as fair,
And having perhaps the better claim,
Because it was grassy and wanted wear;
Though as for that the passing there
Had worn them really about the same,
And both that morning equally lay
In leaves no step had trodden black.
Oh, I kept the first for another day!
Yet knowing how way leads on to way,
I doubted if I should ever come back.
I shall be telling this with a sigh
Somewhere ages and ages hence:
Two roads diverged in a wood, and I
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference.
very nice. Thank you for not making fun of me
