tendencies, because, rather than appeal to individual personal decision making capacities and the responsible traits of fully developed free individuals of any and all ages, we are exhorted on the basis of assumed characteristics of entire generations relative to violent events in "the homeland".

I know a few young people who may be into this sort of thing; I mark it up to their own unique brand of naivete and rootlessness.

That website is not user friendly. I couldn't get to the end of the article. The scroll bar was masked.

Generational? I entered college in June of 1995 at the age of 36. The people that ran the classroom could not get a grip on Windows95. They simply refused to try.

Of course, they know this stuff now. Do we give people time to adjust, or no?

There are always people looking for their identity, or for some group to belong to, or for some narrative to understand their life by.

The whole generational identification is about as meaningful and useful as having your horoscope read; in other words, its a load of crap, but if you believe in it it can provide a sort of center for your thoughts to revolve around. Kind of sad that people need that, but as long as its not too nutty and doesn't rely on hatred of "those others", probably no harm done.
