The Denver establishment that was the scene of a now-viral video of an FBI agent whose dancing ended in a gunshot has offered the shooting victim free drinks forever.

Mile High Spirits said in a release on Monday that he's "welcome at Mile High Spirits to enjoy complimentary drinks forever." The victim, who has not been named, was shot around 1 a.m. on Saturday at the LoDo club and bar.

In a video from a witness submitted to 9NEWS, you can see the off-duty FBI agent dancing, then throwing a backflip moments before his gun falls from his waistband holster. When the agent, who 9Wants to Know has learned is 29-year-old Chase Bishop, reaches down to pick it up, the gun fires -- striking a man in the leg. Bishop then casually puts his hands up and walks away from the crowd.

On Monday, Mile High Spirits sounded off -- saying it was upsetting that Saturday's incident (the only shooting to "ever occur at our establishment&quot happened "as a result of an FBI agent entering our distillery tasting room carrying a loaded firearm without our knowledge, in violation of our rules."

Read the entire release from Mile High Spirits below:

At Mile High Spirits, we pride ourselves on being a craft distillery with high quality products and an engaging customer experience, in a fun and safe atmosphere. It is shocking that the only shooting to ever occur at our establishment came about as a result of an FBI agent entering our distillery tasting room carrying a loaded firearm without our knowledge, in violation of our rules. As a result of his misconduct, one of our innocent patrons was shot. Our security team was able to execute a catastrophic event plan, ensuring, safe exit of all patrons in the establishment after the shooting. We are deeply saddened by the events that occurred and look forward to speaking with representatives of the FBI, so we can come to understand his presence and his need to be armed in our establishment. The whole team at Mile High Spirits is praying for the victim’s quick recovery, and he’s welcome at Mile High Spirits to enjoy complimentary drinks forever.

1. I rather imagine that he should sue both the nightclub and the off duty FBI agent

and settle for something like $1M for endangering his life with reckless behavior.

He can buy his own drinks at some other nightclub for the interest earned on his settlement.

4. As a former nightclub owner... all I can tell you is that we get sued anytime anything happens

at your establishment. Partly because of the perceived "deep pockets" by the public, partly because we are required to carry insurance.

So why I can understand that the nightclub is not culpable (they wouldn't allow me on the jury), I expect the lawsuit to name the club anyway.

5. Pre-emptive strike?

Do you think the nightclub was trying to get in front of this story? If it was my club, I would expect to be sued. Is this a public relations effort?

Perhaps the owners made an interesting calculation in this case. By taking a serious stand and stating that firearms are not allowed in their establishment, the owners present themselves as victims. Then by trying to stand alongside the gunshot victim, and offering him free drinks forever, the owners present themselves as good, generous people. Now the optics won't be so good if the gunshot victim does sue the nightclub.

Who knew that restaurateurs and club owners don't all have deep pockets?! (wink)

6. That is what is wrong with our country's legal system. Sue an innocent party?

Wow. Sorry to see someone suggest that here.

8. They are not entirely innocent...

or I should say... they may not be entirely innocent.

For example... did they have a posted "no concealed weapons" policy? How about a metal detector? Open carry may be the law in Colorado (I'm not sure) but the FBI agent may be excluded from all restrictions against gun regulations anyway.

In any event, a dangerous situation developed inside their property and I didn't see anything being done to curtail it.

Now... the very last thing that the club CAN be held liable for (because my club has been in the past) is "How many drinks were consumed by the FBI agent before the incident? It is most definitely the club's responsibility to prevent drunk behavior inside the club and immediate post club activities.

Not saying this guy was drunk... but you would have to sue to find out... depose any and all wait staff to see how many alcoholic drinks were consumed, etc.

I think the FBI agent, and certainly his self-firing pistol, have suffered enough.
