That picture still fills me with sadness and a sense of despair--the exact same emotions I had when I first saw it in 1968 when I was 12. How very different the world would be...what if?

but one of the strongest was hearing over the radio about RFK being shot... and going to where my mother was ironing clothes in the spare bedroom and listening to the further news reports.

I wasn't old enough to understand completely... but I remember being both very sad and somewhat nervous about our country.
