Look, it's fun to dump on Trump and say he should be a traffic cone or the like, but it's dangerous to underestimate him. He has a flair for showmanship. (That's a big part of how he got to the White House, after all.) Hosting Celebrity Apprentice called on that talent without the necessity of any actual business acumen.

During his tenure on the show, it was never a huge ratings smash. It did, however, perform well enough to be renewed for several seasons. There are plenty of talented show business professionals who'd give a kidney to have done that well.
