"Senator Merkley and his staff saw children in cages."

Attorney General Jeff Sessions announced in early May that DHS would refer for prosecution all people suspected of crossing the border illegally, a controversial move that will lead to more instances of families being split apart.

Democrats have ripped the new policy as draconian and damaging to young children, while Trump administration officials have sought to blame Democrats for allowing illegal immigration to flourish with lax policies.

Ray Zaccaro, a Merkley spokesman, said Monday evening that the White House attacked the senator because it couldn't defend the new prosecution policy and its effect on families at the border.

In a written statement, Zaccaro said that in a separate visit Sunday to a Border Patrol processing center in McAllen, Texas, “Senator Merkley and his staff saw children in cages.” Zaccaro also said that “we still have no idea what’s happening in the detention center where reportedly up to a thousand children are being held, since they refused the senator’s request to go inside.“

and there are no cages, which is what we WANT.

If it turns out that is the case, GOOD, but if so why are we and the media being tricked?

Why is the Senator being tricked? America has lost it's mind.

criticizing this facility for doing the EXACT same thing done under Obama without making that notation.

I was AGAINST the Obama deportations and most of us were, so we ARE consistent but we do need to know what took place in the past and where.

Does NOT change our attitude or mine that this is WRONG WRONG WRONG. Personally I want the UN to send in troops or threaten to.

We know who will jump all over us if this same facility did the same thing for years before the fascist came in and paid them the same amount, I dont want to give them an opening.

I want to oppose this behavour no matter who is doing it and I did in the past as I am sure you and others here did.

I am mostly SICK TO DEATH of folks who NEVER have anything positive to say but are RIGHT THERE To attack us when something like this happens. You know who I mean.

11. The "cages" are holding cells at the Border Patrol processing center

It’s where they take everyone found crossing the border for processing.

That’s been that way for probably 50 years. When you get crossing a border illegally they are going to put you in a holding facility while they process you.

That’s nothing to do with the other facilities, run by a non-profit for another government agency.

The chicken littles screaming they could be cages in a totally different facility run by a different agency because they saw them somewhere else are engaging in illogical hysterics. It would be like insisting McDonalds is now serving Tacks because you saw someone at Taco Bell eating one.

America is the home of people like Joe Arpaio. Someone how refused to investigate hundreds of child rape cases, because the victims looked Hispanic/hero to 10s of millions of Americans.

It's the home to Roy Moore, a serial pedophile/nearly a Senator.

And on and on.

Children in cages? Ask the Japanese during WW2.

America is many things, and one of them is a disastrous place for non-white and poor people.

9. Gee, will Jeff Sessions also refer the people who put children in cages for prosecution?

Or hasn't anyone pointed out to him any passages in the Bible that explain that children are people, too (and not just corporations)?

10. Merkley: Migrant Kids Are Kept In Cages On Concrete Floor At TX Border Station
Tue Jun 5, 2018, 02:03 PM
Jun 2018

By Kate Riga | June 4, 2018 9:33 am

“They have big cages made out of fencing and wire and nets stretched across the top of them so people can’t climb out,” Merkley told CNN’s Alisyn Camerota of the McAllen border patrol station in Texas he toured on Sunday. “It’s just a concrete floor and people are being given these space blankets to sleep on. A space blanket is…the equivalent of foil. So obviously a very uncomfortable situation to be in.”

Merkley added that when he inquired about the draconian living conditions, he was given “generic” answers: “this is what’s required for security, this is what’s required for control.”

Later, when he attempted to tour an Office of Refugee Resettlement facility in Brownsville, Texas, where migrant children were being held, he was barred and police were called.
