I will vote today and wonder if fresh ideas and a younger female is a better choice. I've always voted for Diane, and may again.

(9,527 posts)One thing we haven't done a great job at is bringing in new leadership. But at the same time, we have been fortunate to have female leaders like Feinstein and constant large turnover is bad.

(58,785 posts)These are dangerous times, and Feinstein has extensive intelligence and national security experience. Whoever replaces her should be a really good choice, so good that he shouldn't be passed up, someone obviously capable of becoming a similarly outstanding senator among many.
Frankly, it'd take that person for me to also turn down the satisfaction of spitting in the eyes of those trying to use me to take out our best. After all, mediocre men can rise to leadership among their peers, mediocre women never. Not yet and probably not for a long, long time. Their attempts to weaponize misogyny against the very few who have make me want to more than spit.

Besides, I learned in high school never to bet against girls from Sacred Heart. ( local nod there).
