Manafort is FUCKED. And that means...

Trump is too.

You have to be either completely stupid or completely desperate to tamper with witnesses once you've been indicted by a special prosecutor. Manafort knew he was being observed and monitored which is why he used encrypted software to attempt to communicate. So he's not stupid.

Manafort *is* going to go to jail until his trial. He will break and will turn against Trump to save his own ass. And if Trump tries to pardon him, I suspect Mueller has a plan for that.

Manafort just set off a move that allows Mueller to check-mate Trump. This is the beginning of the end.

That's why Mueller has frozen Manafort's assets and reported his passport numbers to every TSA scanner in the country. If he tries to fly out of the country he'll be caught, but there are other ways to get out. Manafort wears an ankle cuff with GPS senser that's monitored all the time, so he wouldn't get far.

However he's forfeited on the deal he made for house arrest privileges, and now he's going to jail.

Just a reminder that Cheeto said at the very beginning of the Mueller investigation, "If Manafort goes down, I'm going down too." Their fates are linked and even Cheeto knows it.

And I'm not familiar with the BLOTUS quote about if Manafort goes down, he will too. That's pretty revealing!

So they have his money tied up, passport seized, all communications monitored and a GPS strapped to his ankle.

Sounds good but I still don't trust this criminal asshole.

Question about GPS ankle bracelets. Does anyone know if they send out an alarm if they're messed with? I would think so, but I don't know.

For example, let's say that Manafort cut the thing off and put it in his bed so it appeared to the monitors that he had retired for the night, was sleeping and holding still. That theoretically would give him time to get on a private airplane and fly to some other country.

The Feds need to post a 24 hour armed sentry (or two or three) at this fucker's house until a week from Friday when they drag his ass in front of the pissed-off judge and she sends him to jail for good and forever.

Manafort's lawyers have until Friday, 6/8 to respond to Mueller's filing.
There will be a hearing on Friday 6/15 to decide whether to revoke Manafort's bail and send him to jail.

Note: I also heard that the standard of proof that there be 'probable cause' to believe the allegations, not 'beyond a reasonable doubt'.

I suspect that Manafort won't be enjoying his dinner of 6/15.

These guys own so many people that I never know what they'll be able to get away with.

But I hope he goes straight to jail and doesn't pass Go. I wonder what kind of a deal Mueller would give Manafort, though, since he's got Manafort by the ya-yas? Enough for Mueller to "sing like a boid"? I hope so.

We don't really know that Manafort can link Trump to Russian collusion, though, do we? It's hard to remember all the facts in this complex investigation with so many tentacles. I mean, these guys are knee deep in so much corruption all over the place....

I got to think the stink of Manafort picking Pence would stick to him even if he becomes President before the 2020 election.

Call it arrogance, call it hubris, call it fear of the rest of his life in prison...call it what you want, but the bus still gets off at Stupidville.

Yes, he used an encrypted app, but then he stored his data in the cloud where it could be read.

That he is inately corrupt. That tampering with a witness is just another part of his world. I think trump is of this world too. Thinks nothing at all about sending bulldog lawyer to scare people, plays the legal, tax and bankruptcy systems, cheats on his wife, pays people for silence, smears his enemies. Both just rotten to the core.
