A few hours after President Donald Trump disinvited the Eagles to the White House, the team released a statement that didnt even mention him.
Instead, the Eagles statement was about moving on:
It has been incredibly thrilling to celebrate our first Super Bowl Championship. Watching the entire Eagles community come together has been an inspiration. We are truly grateful for all of the support we have received and we are looking forward to continuing our preparations for the 2018 season.

(3,491 posts)because they're afraid of him. The NFL should stop cowering in the corner, man up, and call out the Idiot in Chief regardless of the fallout.

I think they did the right thing. And I'm a Buccaneer fan.

(6,916 posts)This is the reason none of us should read his tweets or retweet him or repeat his words.
The president derives a lot of his influence by his ability to drive the national conversation. Deprive him of that. Talk about what we want to talk about: our agenda.

(17,276 posts)So much (all) of his tweeting is BS anyway.
Just report on what he does. That's the only thing that matters and the only thing that you can count on.

As George Bernard Shaw said, Never wrestle with a pig. You get dirty, and besides, the pig likes it.
The Eagles refuse to wrestle with this pig. Good on them.

(6,556 posts)The Eagles did exactly the right thing. tRump needs to minimized at every possible moment. He thrives on attention and it doesn't matter if it is negative or positive.

Disinviting them from the White House only proves that our President is not a true patriot, but a fragile egomaniac obsessed with crowd size and afraid of the embarrassment of throwing a party to which no one wants to attend

(14,249 posts)Trump wants nothing more than to get into a public fight with the Eagles. They didnt give it to him. Instead theyre acting as if hes nothing, which is what he hates more than anything else.
Trump would like nothing more than to spend today in a public back and forth with Eagles. Instead, they walked away and just left him standing there huffing and puffing for a fight and looking ridiculous.
Everything does not have to be a full frontal in your face assault in order to be effective.

(6,556 posts)It does not mean that the Eagles were wrong, just that they view it differently.
