Washington: President Donald Trump's former campaign manager, Paul Manafort, who has been indicted by US Special Counsel Robert Mueller, attempted to tamper with potential witnesses, Mueller said in a court filing on Monday.
Mueller, who is investigating possible collusion between the Trump campaign and Russia, asked the judge overseeing the case in US District Court for the District of Columbia to revoke or revise an order releasing Manafort ahead of his trial.

(6,288 posts)single question, under oath, about Trump & the crime syndicate that interfered in the 2016 election, and that alone indicts a whole bunch of other people.
Trump's pardon would remove Manafort's option of taking the 5th.
He implicates the entire organization, or sits in prison.
I'm no chess player but insn't that pretty close to a checkmate?

In court documents, prosecutors working for the special counsel, Robert S. Mueller III, said that violated the terms of Mr. Manaforts release while he awaits trial. They asked a federal judge to revise those terms or send him to jail until trial.
Prosecutors said that Mr. Manafort tried to contact witnesses by phone, through an intermediary and through an encrypted messaging program. One witness told the F.B.I. that Mr. Manafort was trying to suborn perjury, prosecutors said. Two witnesses provided the texts to the F.B.I., which also searched Mr. Manaforts cloud-based Apple account, according to court records.
...........................................
Prosecutors provided the judge a summary of contacts that they said were made from February to April, while Mr. Manafort was under house arrest on a $10 million bond.

(37 posts)All along I've thought he was going to get a sweetheart 7ish year plea deal but I think that's out the window now. As good as the special counsel's office is, I bet he's committed 10 crimes for each one they have caught him in. Could be going away for life.
