Does EVERY interaction between a man in power and a woman fall under the #MeToo umbrella??????

Just watched the Newshour pundits assuming that Clinton should apologize TO Monica Lewinsky. Why? She was an adult predator!!! He didn't harass her! He didn't engage in "misconduct," as it is understood to be predatory. He was stupid, yes. He was immoral, yes. But he doesn't owe Monica Lewinsky an apology!

When will they focus on matters with priorities and not this crap? The MEDIA needs to do their jobs and stop this GOP pandering and $$$$/ratings nonsense. No wonder they get such little respect. They handed the oval office in 2016 on a silver platter to the fucking moron and still do it every day 24/7.

That said, he was a nearly 50 year old man and the President. All the power was in his hands. He did not have to take the bait if you want to think of her as the sexual predator in the relationship. He should have known and acted better. There is nothing wrong with apologizing when you have done something wrong. He could have EASILY kept her away from him, he chose not to.

... why did she keep, and not wash, a semen-encrusted dress?

Weird.

That does not excuse Bill Clinton, however.

I am now the father of a young adult daughter and I can say this with out reservation, I would not let her near THIS President. Not even with her brothers kryptonite catchers cup on

9. That may be true. But that still doesn't make it a #MeToo situation. And I don't think he owes her

an apology.

Yes, he should have known better. He shouldn't have taken the bait. But he did not harass her and he was not a predator.

The apology issue is stupid. This happened 20 years ago. He was punished severely. If after all that time, someone sprung that question on me about whether I should apologize, I might have reacted just as he did. It was a bullshit question.

"Monica, I apologize for not stopping you from giving me the you-know-what you came into my office fully intending to give me."

To me, one surprising thing was that she did not consider that in most work environments flashing the CEO would lead to her being out almost immediately. I would have expected the President to call in whoever was in charge of the interns and saying that she should be told not to show up the next day ... or ever. What was the environment in the WH that she did not expect that to be the outcome.

I can think of 2 examples I know of personally. Nursing is my 2nd career. Before that, I thought I wanted to be a lawyer. I was a paralegal working in a law firm with the intention of going to law school. Anyhoo, there was a young associate having an affair with one of the older senior partners. She knew what she was doing. She was determined to make partner and told others in the office this. She was not a victim in my opinion. And was a piss poor attorney to boot. Her affair with senior partner was all about getting what she wanted. He was smitten with young booty!

Senior partner's wife got wind of the affair, she never made partner. He ended the affair. She left the firm.

name and apologized to her and her family in front of the nation. Why did he need to call her to apologize? Why would she want to talk to him? That would be very uncomfortable.

She was the much younger, less experienced, immature person. He had power of authority and should have left her alone, even if she was the aggressor.

Part of the price he pays for being "a man in power". It's just the way it is.

But if you have sex with your subordinate, yeah that's a conflict of interest and the appearance of impropriety.

And for the GOP to demand apologies for infidelity, they can fuck themselves with their records of screwing anything that moves. Gingrich was sleeping with his own intern during this time in fact...but the GOP will attempt to destroy any Dem president...they are at it with Obama now...we can't join in. This was a private matter between Hillary and Bill...they were after Clinton from the get go...and whitewater morphed into this...talk about overreach. Bottom line I don't give two fucks for this nonsense and will not dance to the GOP's tune... they desire to destroy any Democrat who is effective to hide their own incompetence.
