The Roseanne show without Roseanne? ABC is considering it.

It looks like ABC might be considering continuing Roseanne without Roseanne Barr.

I have to admit that I felt bad for the cast and crew when I heard that Roseanne was cancelled. It was unfortunate that other people had to lose work due to Barr's stupidity. Apparently there is talk of refocusing the show on the Darlene character.

Any thoughts? Would you watch a Roseanne spin-off without Barr?

2. I liked the first version of the show, despite Roseanne being the star

I've never found her to be particularly talented or 'watchable'. Her voice, her delivery, pretty much everything about her performance has always been off-putting, to me, even if some of her stand-up material was hilarious. But, the rest of the cast - definitely talented and enjoyable - particularly John Goodman and Laurie Metcalf.

Something that starred Sara
Gilbert or Laurie Metcalf. They are both very talented,

It would burn Roseanne and Trump and give jobs to the other cast and crew.

I hope they go for it.

I like Sarah Gilbert. Roseanne was always the weakest link in that show - I don't think she could act.

8. I would love to get to write the script for her death to get her out of the show

Like she dies for lack of medical care because her state didn’t expand Medicaid.

Or she dies in an accident with her car hit by a train becuse the Trump Administration rolled back safety standards.

She goes to a Neo-Nazi meeting and the attendees accuse her of being a Jewish spy and kill her.

She goes to the hospital and demands a less competent “American” doctor treat her instead of the more qualified immigrant and she dies from a medical error.

I could have a lot of fun coming up with possible scenarios...

I hope they don't do this. It would be tantamount to a walk back. A salve for the deplorables. Fuck them.

with being bigots. Much of that audience wants a show they can identify with, and a fair number are Democrats or left leaning. They didn't tune in because of what the actress was in her private life but for the fictional characters and their lives portrayed in the show.

Definition of bigot: a person who is obstinately or intolerantly devoted to his or her own opinions and prejudices; especially one who regards or treats the members of a group with hatred and intolerance.

Wonder how they'd take Roseanne out. Maybe she could get torn apart by a mob of trumpsters who mistake her for Hillary after she dyes her hair blonde.

14. No - the original show was only good for 2 or 3 years

and from what little I saw not much improved from the end of the last go round.

Wasn't the Tim Allen show kind of the same idea (sorry can't think of the name)? Tried to watch it, but stopped after a few shows.

Actually, if they were going to revive something from the past with this premise I'd rather see the Bunkers resurrected with Rob Reiner heading up the project.

and I'm not big on sitcoms. I'd watch just so the show's other cast members could have a job but the plus would be the slap in the face to repug racists and women haters.
