But then again I hate to see people suffer because of my country and heartless politicians that don’t represent my values.

Separating young kids from parents serves no purpose other than to make them suffer. The only reason these people are illegally crossing the boarder in the first place is out of desperation. We shouldn’t necessarily open our boarders and let everyone in, but that doesn’t mean that these people aren’t human and don’t deserve to be treated with compassion.

At the end of the day, I agree with you.

How many lies did he tell when he lied to Congress during his confirmation hearings about not having any contacts with Russians before Al Franken caught up with his ass? He had about 5 contacts with Russians and lied about it before Franken busted him. If any members of the GOP had any balls, he wouldn't be the Atty General since they had to have known he was lying as well, but they confirmed him anyway.

Priority was always on family reunification.

Humorous aside

In April 1982 I was Chief of Operations for refugee resettlement for IOM in Bangkok and my days were filled with managing a large migration operation that included medical checks, documentation, transportation and the like.

I rarely got involved in individual cases but this was a strange one. During the refugee review process it was determined that this family of 19 had a sibling that lived in a remote island in the Atlantic I had never heard of.

To get there it would take a week and transit visas in the US, Mexico and Argentina. We would have to have our staff in those countries accompany them during the entire time to ensure that they didn't off load in some strange city.

Everything was arranged. They left on a Wed. and would arrive on their island on a ferry on a Sunday.

I came to work on Monday and the headlines were that the Argentinian armed forces had just arrived to liberate the Falkland Islands.

I later figured out that this family who had spent years trying to escape the ravages of war had landed in the Falklands about 4 hours before the Falkland war started.

It used to be that the US Government would move heaven and earth to accomplish family reunion. Republicans and Democrats shared equally in supporting this principle.

There was no controversy.

We have lost so much.

He is doing this as a dodge against the problems he and his Att'y Gen'l are going to face when the true horrors of what they have done come to light. "Oh," Trump's little lambkins will say "the President, forever may he wave, is a kind and loving man who explained that he had to follow a law that those terrible Democrats passed. He doesn't like the law [which does not actually exist, but this is Trump so what do you expect?] but is a true patriot who will follow it to the letter because of his great love for the constitution of the United Blah Blah Blah."

Trump knows he's gone to far. He knows what he's done is despicable, inhuman -- Christ, its a crime against humanity, against all that used to be decent about this Country -- so he's already set about shifting blame. What is as sickening about his lying is his cowardice, his shamelessness, and the fact that 10s of millions of people, citizens of this once great Nation, will believe him, every word, every syllable.

Please, God, do not let the flaccid Democrats let this one go by the boards. This issue can only help the blue wave in November. and it is only with a tremendous Democratic victory can this horrible policy be stopped.
