she brought up
trump's statement that the FBI had s "spy" on his campaign. Then she said that
Trump is " a master of branding"
I wasn't looking at the picture at that time, but Brennan seemed a little taken aback (I wish I had seen his face)
he replied correcting her, " he is a master of lies and deception."

Trump as "a master of branding" sounds more like a compliment. Cheers to Mr. Brennan for correcting Ms. Mitchell.

(5,210 posts)I think it's an incredibly insightful comment, and it doesn't mean he's not lying. Branding isn't about truth or lies or any other value-based concept.
Branding is simply causing the general public to associate a thing with a particular brand. Here's one definition; Google offers up a bunch of others:

But in this case, her "master of branding" comment is, in fact, a FACT, not some steaming pile of whatever that you apparently imagine. It is, in fact, an incredibly important marketing concept. Take it or leave it, accept it or not, believe it or not. It won't matter to her -- or me, or much of anyone else -- at all.

(5,210 posts)a little more attention to branding for my internet marketing efforts. Good advice!
Tip: if you Google the term, you'll learn a lot just by reading the metadescriptions on the SERPs -- the Search Engine Results Pages. Marketing is all around you and that means branding is all around you. If you don't think it's important to understand that a lot of what Trump is doing is simple though masterful product branding, you might explore the subject a bit, so as to change your own, er, perceptions and perhaps see more clearly.
