As the old saying goes, if the facts are against you, argue the law. If the law is against you, argue the facts. If both the facts and the law are against you, pound the table and yell.
Welcome to the central organizing principle of the Trump White House. As the Russia investigation burrows closer to the Oval Office, the president, his staff, his collaborators in Congress and his defenders in the right-wing media are sparing no institution in their quest to undermine it. Look, a mole!
President Trump sank to a new low on Sunday, tweeting, I hereby demand, and will do so officially tomorrow, that the Department of Justice look into whether or not the FBI/DOJ infiltrated or surveilled the Trump Campaign for Political Purposes and if any such demands or requests were made by people within the Obama Administration!
Putting aside the cartoonish language (I hereby demand? Really?), consider the seriousness of the threat posed by a president ordering federal law enforcement officials to investigate the people who are investigating him.

I saw on either MSNBC or CNN that a former COS said that Kelly has been compromised and that t-rump's looney tune brigade (Ruby G.) are in charged 100% now. Actually, Kelly was part of that circle as well.

(11,885 posts)What's next, he claims President Obama isn't a citizen and his presidency is determined from his lies to be illegitimate and he has it erased, then he goes after the Clinton's , claiming something made up and he demands they be found guilty and sent away. His demands are only going to get worse, and his cruelty will surface even more against all those who will not bow down to him. Republicans will pay dearly for this for a long , long time.

(23,147 posts)If there is, it's very weak an dying from the thousands of blows from orange assface. If repugs hold on to both houses, we are totally fucked and maybe forever. He will find a way to suspend the constitution and become Herr Leader for Life, drumpf. That's what horrible countries like Russia, Saudi Arabia, UAE and Israel want and are trying to accomplish. None of them, including especially durmpf, care one bit about the ideals or people of the USA, they all just want a compliant tyrant that they can manipulate to do their bidding because he is so totally stupid and narcissistic.

(8,200 posts)You can thank what is happening now for the misplace trust that the Obama administration had in allowing one of the worst abuses of power go unchallenged. When Cheney could not get the intelligence agencies to support his claim that Saddam had weapons of mass destruction he along with Rumsfeld and their neo-cons created their own intelligence unit that produced what they wanted. They entirety of the Bush administration should have been charged and sent to jail. There should have been an extensive investigation by congress, but no lets just let bygones be bygones gather around the campfire and sing come-by songs.

If only Republicans could get this.

(52,302 posts)they're only worried about themselves and the republican party.
if the republican party can achieve totalitarian control via donnie, republicans in congress will be fine with that.
maybe one or two will make a brief lament as they retire anyway, but the vast majority of them will happily go along.
of course, they'd be organizing for civil war if hillary or obama did a fraction of what donnie is already doing....
