I know it is a fiction, but it stands in stark contrast to the shitstorm that is our current reality. Each episode shows an administration working remarkably well, and a state department that does what it's supposed to do.

I didn't see many of West Wing so I can't compare but Madame Secretary may be the best civics lesson ever on U.S. TV.

Haven't seen this episode yet (comes on too late for me), but look forward to watching it online this week. (Even though this episode sounds a little scary).

It's different from West Wing (which I binge-watched only recently, also as anti-Orange Nightmare therapy), but both offer an oasis of sanity - in the sense of watching sane, competent people taking their government responsibilities seriously.

a little tired, losing its edge and getting a bit predictable, but it is still keeping me hooked for now. I hope it doesn’t lose me like “Elementary” did. That started out very exciting and edgy, too - but got tired and predictable until watching it became a duty instead of a pleasure and I quit it.
