Can We All Please Stop Conceding This Positive Trump Economy Bullshit?

I am so sick and tired of listening to 'You have to give credit to Trump for the economy".

First off, Trump inherited a strong economy. trump and the Republicans Congress passed a tax cut, heavily tilted toward corporations and individuals that were already doing just fine.

Oh, how Fox News and the Republicans railed against a $1 trillion annual deficit when Obama and the Democrats owned it. We seem to forget that in 2009 we had a minus 9% annual GDP and an 11% unemployment rate, all laid at the hands of the Republicans.

With a minus 9% GDP, the nation's income is dramatically reduced and with an 11% unemployment rate, our expenditures are dramatically increased. Obama and the Democrats cut taxes (temporarily) on payroll taxes, thus giving money to every American to spend. He bailed out states, so that police, fire and school teachers wouldn't be added to the unemployment rolls. They extended unemployment to up to a year. All of these actions stabilized the economy, so much so, that the unemployment rate was 5% and the GDP improved every month, to reach into the over 2% annual range. And still the Republicans cursed Obama for the deficit, that went steadily down, so that in his final year it was only about $500 billion.

Now, the fucking assholes have raised the deficit to over a $trillion, to move the fucking needle one point on unemployment and a half point on the GDP (if we're lucky). What fucking geniuses. Doubling the deficit in good times is how bubbles are created and economic catastrophes occur.

there are times to deficit spend, and that's when times are really, really bad. The time to cut deficits is when times are really, really good. This is not rocket science.

That goes to Obama. Now, once the tax cuts start really taking hold and the economy plummets and congress then fucks us over doubly by cutting all social programs that don't help the rich, then the economy will be his. Then he and the corrupt russian repugs will try to cut social security, medicare and medicaid and we will be well and truly fucked if we don't have a majority in at least one of the branches of congress.

It's the MSM, the State Media (Fox) and even Democratic office holders and pundits.

I always assume that the people on this site are far more well informed than the opinion class, let alone the average citizen.

Kinda like when Democratic Senators who oppose an issue refer to "we" when talking about average Americans or all of Congress.

in deficit spending will increase over the next 10 years. The cuts to almost every program in the social safety net to not look "positive" either.

11. This is going to catch up to Trumpster supporters

It's already starting in businesses relying on an immigrant workforce and farmers who are or will be seriously compromised by the ongoing trade policies. Not to mention the healthcare debacle that is already in the works with states unable to pick up the cost of Federal cuts. Case in point? Louisiana will be dumping patients from nursing homes, the elderly, the sick and disabled. This one state will be followed by more, particularly in Republican states where small government might sound good on paper until reality bites you in the ass.

Then the happy talk and faux Trumpster credit won't cut it. Not even on Fox News.

Economic conditions haven't changed substantially from the last few years of the Obama Presidency, and Trump's policies have barely had time to start moving the needle.

Two or three years from now, we'll know. Maybe sooner.

That caused the Great Recession in 2008. Tale a strong economy (2001), cut taxes on the rich, deregulate so the banks and wall street can rob us blind. Cut their taxes.

And, here we go again.
