(51,571 posts)Comic timing is a talent. You can't just feed a punchline to the average person and expect it to be funny. These women were not comedians and it showed. It's cute that they wanted to showcase their moms, but I felt bad for the moms as they flubbed their punchlines.
Now Melissa McCarthy as Michael Che's mom on Weekend Update, THAT was funny!

(41,984 posts)If you watched the 2015 rerun right after it had a Mothers Day opener too, with some of the same moms. Id have been thrilled to be in on the jokes and was impressed how good they were.
