The piece is titled "Democrats frightening embrace of socialism"
https://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/post-partisan/wp/2018/05/07/democrats-frightening-embrace-of-socialism/
He used all the correct buzz/key words/terms "lefty comrades" "milder version of Communism" "free (college, cash, health care)"
and managed to invoke the names of Marx, Lenin, Trotsky, Mao, the Kim family, the Castro brothers and countless others who "mass murdered millions of innocents"
He also made some remarks concerning Hillary's fear of offending socialist rather than standing up for capitalism. Fer cripes sake ... he even supposed what Bill would say.
Now usually I read that sort of bull with an open mind and a few grains of salt but I really took offense to the "Free, free, free stuff" remarks. I wanted to post a reply to the column but I am loathe to being anything other than a lurker and didn't wish to create an account.
I digress.
I don't want free stuff. I just want my fair share of my tax dollar to go to programs that elevate society and our country. Nationalized health care, internet, colleges etc. If private insurers, internet providers, universities wish to compete against each other (and the against the government) well, God bless their tiny hearts, as dark and as black as they may be. I am just sick and tired of hearing how fucking wonderful Capitalism is and how evil Socialism.
end of rant ... thank you for allowing me to take up your time

So of course leave it to the Nazi Party to exploit it.

(30,481 posts)There are almost no socialists in the country.
Different forms of capitalism runs deep in these parts.
All of this is bullshit.

It sounds like that the authors of those two editorials should do lunch together and compare notes.
